I largely agree with everyone else here. In my opinion, if labels are helpful in defining who you are, then go ahead. If the labels don't help, don't worry about them.

If either word is used with the intent of ridiculing, mocking, demeaning, etc. the recipient those words, then it is hate speech. If any word is used with such intent, it is hate speech.

I was thinking that this could work for me. I think most of my neuroatypical traits are mild enough to be unnoticeable or barely noticeable. If people do notice that something is "off" about me and ask me about it I would probably just tell them that I'm gay. Even though I'm not stereotypically gay...

Neither I would bash someone in the face for attempting to make me take any of them they did try to make me take the straight pill (i.e. reparative therapy, I now have PTSD) not doing it ever again for anything I have, society will accept me for who I am or they will regret it. Neither of the above...

I'd like it a helluva lot if there were better choices between bad and worse. Agreed. In America, voting has become a choice of deciding which is the lesser of two evils. In my opinion, it seems to be the Democrats right now. I live in the UK and I'm not even old enough to vote, but I can say with ...

Silly for many reasons but: A) That passage in Mark is a later insertion not found in the earliest gospels. He was just trolled by a scribe. B) He's not drinking poison as it also suggests (or predicts) so deep down he knows faith won't really save him. C) The bible specifically says not to tempt g...

Good question. I think if you try to follow the laws that you do know, the police and the legal system won't go too hard on you (as long as your white). That's probably the preferred conservative model.

There seems to be a common stereotype that those with ASD tend to be oblivious to the big picture, but I suspect this stereotype is possibly a result of observations that don't see the big picture. Yes, it is a stereotype, one propogated by the observations and conclusions of scientists, ...

1863-January-01: Lincoln issues an executive order call "The Emancipation Proclamation", 87 years after the founding of the United states of America , thus declaring that slavery is illegal. Actually, the Emancipation Proclamation did not abolish all slavery in the United States. This is what it sa...

Lots of my dreams are foggy and hard to remember. In my most vivid dreams, something always goes wrong with the solar system. Once, when I was little, I had a nightmare about the sun crashing into the Earth. That was pretty scary. I ran over to the mailboxes about a block from my family's house. (Do...

Does anyone else think they have a loyalty and what I would call a 'naive courage' thanks to the spectrum that could put them in danger one day? Also, apologies for any upset the story may cause. If the boy was naive, he wouldn't have tried to hit the two men attacking his stepfather with a basebal...

You're welcome. Oftentimes I'll go around this forum to see if there are people who haven't been given a "Hello" yet because I don't think it's fair to put up your first post and then just be ignored.

Hello! Let me preface by saying that I was going to put this in the LGBT Discussion Forum but I decided that it's better suited here as what I'm going to write primarily concerns special interests. ------------------------------------- Anyway, I was wondering.. is it common for people on the spectr...

Funny they have nothing regarding autism. Yesterday a guy posted here that he was discharged from the military as soon as he was diagnosed as having Asperger's. Since then, he's been told he's no different than other "introverted" people, and thus doesn't qualify for disability benefits. Makes perf...

Sometimes I bite my hand when I get really frustrated. I typically stop after the first bite because I know its bad and I want to break that habit as much as possible. Nobody else knows I do this; I never do it with anyone watching.
