Aging fluorescent light annoy me... fortunately, the ones where I work are well maintained. I don't mind flashing lights, but I will hunt down and destroy flickering ones! For my part, I don't think that the phrase 'be yourself' is helpful on its own. All too often, 'be yourself' has an invisible clause '... and never change', which is counter-productive IMHO.
