Racism is one of those weird things. In my experience, few people are actually racist by the definition of the word. Just the same, they are called racist because of certain beliefs. When I lived in Connecticut, my best friend was black. My other friends were an Asian and a Jew. When I lived in Flor...

Forum: Adult Autism Issues   Topic: Why do teenagers call people gay as an insult?

It's not really an insult so much as it has become a slang word. Gay can mean anything from lame to weird to actually homosexual. I've found "fag" to be much more common nowadays than "gay". I blame the British. I don't mean to make light of the situation, but I've always felt it was silly in the fi...

My favorite pistol is an HK .45 USP I picked up for about 800 dollars. It's the one I carry around with me. While looking cool, it is also an incredibly reliable and rugged weapon. I first became interested in it when I saw it in Counter-Strike. Once I learned more about the manufacture of the gun, ...

I was acutely aware as a child that certain species of spider could kill me if I was bitten by them. I hated them then. Now that I'm a fully grown adult, the worst a brown recluse or black widow could do to me is maim me. I despise them even more. Snakes are much more of a bother, but easier to kill...

Anal is the new oral. In ten years or so, comedians will make jokes about how women that don't do anal sex are like CDs, and express surprise that they are even still in existence.

It's a wonderful mood stabilizer. Although I hate to feel dependent, one good hit will usually sap any negative feelings I had. It makes dealing with life significantly less of a "I want to kill everyone and then brood about it afterwards" struggle.

"I was told by the temp service rep on Saturday" there's why they fired you. As a temp you are not really part of the company and therefore #1 in the list of expendable personnel. My best guess is that they needed to cut back on some employees and used that tiny mistake as a technical excuse to get...

Ummm ... er ... uhhh ... well, that would have been an example of yet another Aspie-ish behavior I exhibit, namely that of a peculiarly quirky sense of humor. You said, "I started to think in my head ..." and the thought that immediately leapt to my mind was, "Where else would one 'start to think' ...

I never saw a problem with letting teachers beat a kid's ass with a stick when he or she acted up.

Then again, I was never one of the people getting into trouble.

I don't think being lonely is the best reason for getting a cat, or any pet for that matter.

I thought it was a typo at first.

Doesn't take a huge leap in logic to figure out the idea behind it though. Furry = softcore version of beastiality. Animals roar. More = moar.

At least, that's what I think. I didn't plan on researching it.

MENSA is good if you plan on being one of those artsy types who got rich through some major FUBAR by karma and spending your entire day sipping overpriced champagne in a New York penthouse filled with complete idiots guffawing at your own guests so as to further qualify you are smart. Otherwise, I d...

It took me about two years and seven months to get my Bachelor's in network management. Terms are divided up into nine week long classes. This generally means you'll be reading three books every nine weeks. It can get trying at times. Very few degrees are anything but bits of paper. It's all about f...

People do use Aspie in a negative way.

Who cares. Get over it.
