The easiest subject for me would have to be English. I have an eye for grammar and just generally know how to make writing flow. I tend to be more aware of things like redundancies and cliches than the rest of the class, and I think my writing reflects that. And unlike most of our high school's stud...

English will always be my favorite. It's one of the few subjects that keeps me interested all year. Every other subject is up and down for me. I love genetics, but couldn't care less about symbiotic relationships. Conic sections are a breeze, but logarithms always trip me up. In english, I love ever...

I had this teenage violin tutor when I was younger, and his mom showed me how one day. I've always felt more at ease with adults than I have with people my own age, so most of the advice I got on anything came from them. I have a friend who learned how to do hers from tutorials on the internet, so t...

I think the best characters have minds of their own. I'm currently writing a novel, and I intended for the main character, a middle aged woman named Elizabeth, to be unhappy with where her life is going. I started writing her as someone who was moody and open about this, but she decided to look at h...

I always have a meltdown when plans change. It bothers me because I feel completely out of control and worry that I won't have time to prepare myself for the change in schedule. What I usually do is go to my room, close the door, and turn the lights off. If it's at night, I'll turn on a lamp so I ca...

I belong to two different groups at my school- the AP and Honors group, where my level of knowledge doesn't seem out of place or odd, and a group of girls who would most likely be considered outcasts and seem to have a lot more in common with me than most NT people.

None of my friends have AS, although many of them don't fit in with the typical high school student. There is only one other kid in my school that I know has AS, and we're in completely different social circles, most of his friends also being NT.

I like texting because it doesn't involve eye contact, but it can be really confusing because I never know if someone's being serious or sarcastic, or if they're happy or sad. Decoding what someone really means is hard enough when face to face- it's even worse when I don't have someone's tone of fac...

Me and an NT girl in my history class often get into heated debates over this. She loves romantic movies and books, and I don't see the point in them. I believe the concept of "love at first sight" to be ridiculous, and I don't think there's such a thing as soul mates. I hear so many girls talk abou...

I'm completely unaware when it comes to what's going on with drama at my school. I don't even know 3/4 of the students in my grade, so I usually become disinterested when someone starts to gossip and I tune it out. I just don't see why another person's personal life would be of any interest to someo...

I feel like I do. If I'm around someone long enough, I sometimes start to mimic their posture or say a phrase they constantly say. I also feel like I sometimes act like characters TV shows or movies.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It's a book about a girl named Lisel, her friend Rudy, her adoptive parents, and the Jewish man they keep hidden in their basement. It takes place during World War 2 and is narrated by Death. It's beautifully written and leaves you thinking about the impact of the wri...

There was a girl in my class whom I didn't get along with. One day, both of our partners in art class were absent, and we had to work together. We got to talking and just didn't stop. We're complete opposites, but somehow we balance each other out. Six years later, we're still best friends.

I prefer text and online. You don't have to try to decode things like tone and body language; text is a lot more straight forward. Also, you don't have someone trying to make eye contact with you like they would face to face. I'm always afraid I come off rude or disinterested to people because I don...

It has never been outright stated that Reid has AS, although it has been hinted at. It's also been a concern of his that he may be a paranoid schizophrenic, which could have been genetically passed on to him by his mother. He often connects with UnSubs on a more psychological level than the rest of ...
