For a psychiatrist, Simon32 writes surprisingly poorly. I can't help but doubt the whole thing.

Here in Norfolk, UK, there's a common greeting which goes; "Wot yer say?" to which the correct answer is: "Not a lot".

OK, here's an update. Despite the children's tests and my intense dislike of them, I have today received a letter informing me the I do presenting with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and confirming that as a diagnosis! Maybe they put people through all this stress to see how we react? If so, it seem...

Dear Jensen, thanks very much for this, it looks as if it will be very useful. Not time to look into the links just now as it's quarter past 11 and I'm worn out, but I will look at them as soon as I can (probably Sunday night).
Thanks again! |

OK, I'll start again: Thanks Jensen, 1st of all. 2nd of all, the tests I'm talking aboiut are those listed in the first post on this thread. There are 7 tests listed, and this is what happens for each of them: 1: Wastes a fair amount of time because after answering all the questions it refuses to gi...

This bloody site won't let me post the reply I've just spent ages on! OK, gone back into this to edit it, as the site deigned to publish it. The longer post (not all that long) will not work no matter what I try to do. I've copied & pasted, used the captcha thing time and time again in every way...

Thanks Jenoir, and sorry for calling you Junior - a genuine mistake! For some reason I make loads of mistakes with spellings on-screen, as opposed to on paper. Hope you recover soon, and if you feel like posting anything more on these subjects, I'd be very interested to read your thoughts.

-----hmmmmm----- You might have to open it and take the link from top of the page - like: http://psychcentral.com/quizzes/anxiety.htm Thanks for the link. According to my score, I don't have any anxiety disorder, which is a bit worrying. As you seem to know how to post links, any chance you could p...

I started a thread called something like "Childrens tests used in adult assessment" about a week ago. I last looked at it yesterday and posted a reply. Today there is no sign of it anywhere. I've clicked on the 'View your posts' thing, and scrolled through everything on this page, going ba...

Thanks, C.C. for your helpful reply. Last things first:- I definitely did not make any reference to characters during the tests. I don't think I'm at all good at imagining social situations, but I'd say I'm good at imagining how I want a room or a motorcycle or a boat to look when I've finished work...

Here's some: http://www.autism.com/related%20disorders Are there any others? I've just finished looking up all of these (including Angelman Syndrome, which for some reason isn't included int he list) and I can say with certainty that none apply to me! Well, none except for Asperger's syndrome, whic...

Yes, I had to use props for children too. I wrote about it here in forum last spring actually as I was rather traumatised by the whole assessment. The next day I complained to the department as I felt using children's books and toys just wasn't appropriate and the insult I felt had the potential to ...

This really applies to UK (England, specifically) folk only. I really would like to know who else has experienced their AS assessment including the story book without words (a kid, castles, a dragon etc), and been asked to make up a story as the pages are turned? Also, the one where a small bag of r...
