One of my special interests is Beat Generation literature and I listen to jazz from the 1940’s/50’s/60’s, which reminds me of Beat Generation literature because the Beats were also into jazz during this time period. The literature and the music put together takes me back mentally to that time period...

Instead of criticizing myself internally for not being able to “perform” like a neurotypical person, I now have more compassion for myself. I also now understand why it has always been so hard to do what most people seem to feel are basic things in life. Finding out I am autistic is something that r...

I'm not sure I've had any special interests. I just get fixations on certain men that I become obsessed with. I think that could count, especially if you’re obsessed with everything about them. For instance if I’m really into a band I will find out everything about them in detail through reading an...

I saw “Kill Your Darlings” and “Beat” with Courtney Love playing the part of Joan Vollmer. Both were overall good as Beat Generation movies go. I saw Night of the Living Dead (1968) earlier in the year, I thought it was well done and can see why it is regarded as a cult classic, but it is a bit grap...

I’m just wondering what special interests other women (on the forum) have. Mine are: Hinduism/Buddhism, post punk, and Beat Generation literature. Please post yours if you’d like to share, thanks.

Thanks very much! :) As an aside, hopefully if and when the results of this study are published, I'll make sure to make the manuscript available on this thread, in case any of the participants are interested in reading about the results. I participated, I'm adding to this thread (writing this) righ...

I think that behavior described on the websites can be described in all abusers and narcissists. To call those aspie traits or HFA traits, you are saying we are abusive. Those sort of websites always describe such behavior has such so I don't really need to look at it all to know what it will say b...

I definitely think about it everyday. It did make me do a lot of research and analyze every time period in my life. I consider it to be intrinsically part of myself. I used to think it wasn't important to find out because I knew my personality type and that seemed so all-inclusive that I felt it was...
