Yes, most of my life has consisted of wavering between shut down mode and feeling.. I can walk away from the world into my own. But feelings confuse me. I go back and forth with people. I don't know why. I just cut out. It's hard to explain. It doesn't do wonders for intimate relationships or close ...

I'm not sure whether it's because I am intimate with someone who has Aspergers or because it's my own confusions or both but last night me and her had an intense discussion about our needs for ourselves and each other and it escalated into a small disagreement but during those 5 minutes of heated ta...

Almost homeless 3 times. I have a student loan now which keeps me going and I'm doing my best to stop overanalyzing myself to the point of confusion. I hope that by the end of my degree in two years time I'll be more solid in myself to work and not get meltdowns and freak out at the feeling of being...

60 posts. But not about her. Not at all. You definitely exaggerated on that one. To be honest, I'll stop right here but you do not know the breadth of the situation and I haven't covered even half of what has gone on. So, you are making conclusions of only what I've told you about. But let me just s...

50 posts!? Most definitely not! I might have spoken about it before, but not to that extent! No, not intrusive. Trying to understand, yes. But intrusive, no. Perhaps intrusive BEFORE she was diagnosed with Aspergers, but after reading on it, not now. I think it is all still an amalgamation of confus...

Thank you :) Yes, I'm the same. Learning a lot of information in a short space of time..I just can't do it. I've just started a new job and I have to take in a LOT of brand new information regarding topics I have never studied or looked at. It's just so hard to process and I have a tendancy to focus...

I've been thinking lately about how my senses process things and I've noticed a few things amidst other thoughts that suggest that I could be on the spectrum. This relates to sensory processing. I've noticed that too much new information might really overwhelms me. I feel very anxious in my body and...

It's okay yournamehere :). I'm not so good myself. I've sometimes wondered whether I'm on the spectrum or not! There's no correlation to this but I seem to get on with aspie's very well and a couple of my best friends are aspie's. Who knows!

Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated. And yes NT's can have social problems indeed! She's not addicted to SSRI's but at that time she was naive about how to take them because she's pretty much just started to take them. I think she thought that taking more = feelings better. She said she felt d...

Sorry, I don't understand why you find that funny. I was asking advice for some good ways to approach the situation. I'm confused at your comment. I know that communication and social issues are not a strong point in Aspies. Which is exactly why or how is best to approach the situation without overw...

Thanks very much. :). Hmm, 1 question. I really don't know what kind of question I would ask about the issue at hand. I've decided to contact her tomorrow evening. Yes, I've noticed that she responds far better with humor, keeping away from negatives and talking about her special interests. I'm even...

Hi everyone, Firstly, thankyou for taking the time to read this. I really appreciate it. Here's my situation: I was with someone for about 8 months and then we broke up. We were both going through a lot and she was having lots of meltdowns and didn't quite know what was going on because she was undi...

I don't understand emotions because I intellectualize my life and try and work out why this thing has happened or why that hasn't etc etc. The principle emotion I do not understand is love. I've been very aloof for most my life. I don't know how love feels. I don't know if I loved anyone in the past...

I've noticed recently that me and my ex are very similar in many ways and when I recognized that she simply could not handle too much emotional intensity, I recently realized that I cannot do that either. Whenever things get too intense emotionally, I get completely thrown off course. I ruin things ...
