In this hypothetical scenario, we live in a world where there are creatures that are similar to sharks, but they can breathe air and fly. There are also sand sharks, like in the movie Sand Shark. Would you support a government program in order to control the population of these creatures? Why or why...

I've only ever had one time in my life where I exhibited what might be considered selective mutism. I'm not even sure if it really counts though. Once upon a time, I found myself in a very bad position. I was in a very bad place at the mercy of some very bad people. Without going into unnecessary de...

Meh. I agree with some of his views, but find his tactics to be too inflammatory. As someone else here has already said, he comes across as a troll. I greatly prefer the more polite and reasonable approach people like Sargon of Akkad take.

Am I the only one who's bothered when someone deliberately implies something that they know is false in order to be deceptive in such a way that when you call them out on it they can say that technically they weren't lying? For example, let's say a business put out some promotional coupons that gave...

You know, the tightening noose of gun control is really a shame as far as holding on to firearms with sentimental or historical value is concerned. Outside of that, it doesn't have too much of an impact though. In areas like mine, there are lots of guns in circulation that are either unregistered (u...

Well, this seems needlessly inflammatory. We aren't going to have any sort of productive political debate here, just another pointless flame war. For the record though, I think Trump, Clinton and Sanders are all pretty appalling. Clinton is just the generic establishment candidate while Trump and Sa...

I'm experiencing a bit of writer's block right now. I need to complete this scene by Friday though, so I have to figure this out. Basically, I'm writing a story about two young brothers. The younger of them is morally upright and exceedingly physically strong, but he's not conventionally intelligent...

Toast only falls with the butter side down. It's for this reason that if you don't put anything on your toast, it can float in the air as if suspended in zero gravity.

My crush just said I'm the sweetest guy she knows  She also asked me if I'd want to go bowling or something some time! Then we sat and talked for a while about how much we both suck at bowling. We agreed that we'd get a lane with bumpers, because otherwise, we'd both probably just get the gut...

Over the course of my life, I've been surprised many times with how my relationships with people have turned out and have on occasion found myself asking how certain social dynamics came to be. I can only assume that a lot of you have felt the same way. You see a group of people behaving strangely o...

I can empathize. I have had a few people approach me in my life though. Most of them turned out to have serious psychological issues (one believed that I was the ghost of a dead mobster, another tried to stab me one morning while I was eating breakfast, and in public no less). A very good friend of ...
