This 5k thing is a gimmick, there are no mac games to play, let alone in 5k. It won't support new technologies like Nividia G Sync or AMD freesync either. You can't change your hardware with a mac, let alone fit anything in it.
Most people just want compatibility with applications and games others use and Windows provides that.
You can run Windows within Parallel or VMware on OS X or install Windows via Bootcamp on the hard drive as a native OS.
I run Windows via Bootcamp on my Macbook Pro and fully game without any trouble.
Hell my Macbook Pro runs Windows better than any Windows PC OEM that I've used.
How is it that my Mac runs Windows better than My cousins brand new HP Laptop?
Or all the other people I know with newer PCs?
Well they have an HP....what do you expect? Seriously screw HP, they'll even develop a problem for no reason. For instance I got my current Sony Viao laptop around the same time my brother got a new HP laptop about 4-5 years ago, guess which one lasted longer? Mine still runs pretty good but I think I may need to open it up and clean off the cooling fan due to a bit of slowness that I cannot attribute to anything else aside from dusty hardware since I've already ran the program I have to check for any software sorts of issues.

Anything can crash, as a software tester I've seen hundreds if not thousands of OSX crashes. Viruses, trojans, malware and botnets include every variety of machine imaginable, including the ones in your pockets. In truth the most secure and often most intuitive option is choosing unicorn devices - aging hardware and kernel with really nice GUI. MeeGo Linux & Fedora are great examples of this. Honorable mention to Elementary OS although it's not my choice. The only Windows rev which hasn't bluescreened on me at least once is 10, and 8.1 has an indestructible registry error I can't seem to squish, and a machine running it and configured as a server on a Microsoft internal domain has a target on its' back for BSOD.
Macs are schematically identical to PCs except they run weird UNIX and are full of hardware rootkits making their parts impossible to reuse, and they're manufactured in little more than sweatshops. You'd be hard pressed to find a computer more wasteful than a Mac.
Stop fanboying. It's only getting you ripped off and lending a noobish demeanor.
Apple isn't the only PC OEM that solders RAM to the motherboard.
Many of the other PC OEMs are doing it now too.
It provides better contact with the motherboard and reduces issues caused by the movement.
iOS is actually built on the OS X kernel with some modifications, this allows developers to port 85% of the code between iOS and OSX
Google on the other hand just lost a lawsuit to Oracle/Sun over Android fully built on Java without securing a license from Oracle/Sun.
Google is ordered to pay $1 Billion + in damages and must pay for a license for all Android versions that use Java.
Google claims they have the right to use Java without a license because it should be free to anyone.
Google rapidly tried to remove all of Java from 5.0, in order to save money.
This where all the 5.0 issues stem from.
Samsung is newest Android phones lack a removable battery and a memory card slot in order to cut costs.
Other Android OEMs have been recently following suit in order to cut their costs.
Microsoft phones don't have them either now.
As for OEMs, they all out source the building of their PCs to China probably Foxconn for the huge costs savings.
Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba build many of their computers in Japan.
With that said Sony is in the process of getting rid of their PC division in some fashion as part of their massive restructuring.
Toshiba is exiting the PC market due to how little profit margin there is in Windows PCs.
Panasonic only makes hardbooks/toughbooks for people who need them while being on the job site such as construction.
As for the American OEMs:
Michael Dell and Microsoft are trying to buyout Dell and take in private with Michael Dell returning as CEO.
Dell is currently bleeding money and marketshare.
HP is splitting in two separate companies to better compete.
HP is killing off its lower end PC models due to non existent profit margins.
Apple did something unusual last year, they now make iMacs and Mac Pros in the U.S. in their new factories, with American workers, none are made overseas.
Apple is promising to bring all of their product lines back to their U.S. factories with in the next few years.
Microsoft just makes Surface tablets/ultrabooks (Microsoft says their both) and bleeds money selling them because very few people are buying them.
As for PC gaming it's dead!! has been dead since 2004!!
The major developers and publishers rarely release on PC.
If you want the newest A-AAA video games, you need buy a PS4, Xbox One and/or even a Wii U.
You could also buy a Steam box this November for a very high price to do your gaming on (they run Steam OS).
Why isn't the gaming industry fully supporting PCs?
Well Windows gamers do a lot of pirating and they also refuse to pay $40+ for new games, thanks to Steam conditioning them to massive sales.
Mac and Linux users don't buy enough to warrant support (or is it do to lack of titles outside of EA?)
Now I'm going to end with my favorite quote about computer users and smartphone users.
Windows users allegedly pirate everything, while Mac users allegedly buy everything.
The saying for Smartphones goes Android users pirate everything, while iOS users buy everything.

Well, as far as desktop and laptop computers are concerned, about 94% of people are Microsoft people, aren’t they? It’d be surprising if most aspies weren’t.

The SteamBox console UX runs great on PC. I have it on a Haswell i5/GMA4000 XPS running 8.1 and an i7 Samsung series 7 Chronos which is basically a hackintosh waiting to happen. Played lots of other PC games as well, in addition to being powerful enough for stuff like CryEngine, gaming PCs are also rather popular amongst coders, particularly as mobile workstations (Alienware, XPS etc.) and as CGI render rigs. Jailbroken PlayStations also make great Linux workstations. I know I could sure use a Toughbook (pad?), but then again I suppose I'm more outdoorsy than the majority of my coworkers. With the possible exception of the USDM Mac Pro which is built from the schematics set out by CRAY, gaming PCs have the highest performance/size ratio of pretty much the whole market. Don't tell me you wouldn't like a Hackintoshed Eurocom Monster.
Also I'm an Android user for now and I pay for some apps. All it requires is feeding Google some data on survey radio buttons. The last things I pirated on Windows were Office 2003 and Dreamweaver CS4. All my games are paid for. Movies, tv & music are a different story but I hardly think that could be correlated to my OS preferences.

As someone who used to build his own machines (and got extremely pissed off when WinDoze would crap itself and take all my other hard drives with it), I find that Apple, despite all the proprietary hardware (FireWire, Thunderbolt, Lightening, iDevices), since the switch to Intel, has been extremely stable. My beef with WinTel is that each motherboard manufacturer customizes whatever BIOS and chipset combination they use, much to the detriment of Microsoft. Is it any wonder Windows is a bloated piece of garbage, with having to support not only Intel, but also AMD and Cyrix (whatever happened to them?) internal architectures, let alone any and all devices that use those processors.

Wrong, actually. Panasonic makes a full line of busiess grade computers comparable to the old IBM Thinkpads in build quality, but they sell them in Asia. The only ones you see for sale in American and European markets are the Toughbooks and a few of their LetsNote series rebranded as Toughbooks for these markets.
