ok, so I'm just curious how many people are like this...
do you enjoy a cartoon, tv show, movie etc, that is completely different than everything else you watch?
or do you enjoy alot of shows that don't "fit" into the same theme or idea?
do you go from an action film to a comedy to something really emotional?

In my case, the one thing I love most are The Transformers. Cars turning into robots, what could be better right?. lots of action, guns and cool cars, then I go from that to DBZ, which of course isn't much different since except it's got transforming super heroes. basicly these two shows are much the same theme or idea because it's about some form of hero's fighting epic battles to the death.
Violence, death and bloodshed...
but sometimes I watch shows that are the exact opposite. ya know, stuff that's happy but not too happy, sometimes sad or emotional.
but if I put out a list of the shows I watch, (which I'm not planing too) the only major thing thay have in common, is that most of them are some form of anime, or based on a comic book.

anyone get what I'm saying?

Oh, I understand what you mean... A bit of an eclectic taste in cartoons or movies, then.

I should say I don't have that, myself. Most of my favourite childhood cartoons are in the action genre... Things like Biker Mice and Gargoyles, and also the Marvel superhero cartoons of the 80s and 90s. Transformers G1 is my all-time favourite, though. I don't have one favourite in my list that is off-key with the rest, I don't think.

Most of the things I enjoy - Alice in Wonderland (2010), Edward Scissorhands, My Little Pony, Adventure Time and Doctor Who - have fantasy elements and contain "cute" characters. The things I enjoy that don't fit in with the rest of the things I watch are The Big Bang Theory, Fight Club and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom with no fantasy elements (though the characters are arguably "cute"), Fight Club is a cynical commentary on society (not sure how else to describe it) and is generally considered a "manly movie" (the only reason I'm into it is because I'm a fan of Helena Bonham Carter and her character Marla Singer), and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is a crime thriller with no fantasy elements (though Lisbeth Salander looks like she could be related to Edward Scissorhands, which I admit was the biggest reason why I got into the movie in the first place, even though it's shallow of me).

I would say I have several, however I am merely a person who appreciates good movies and shows - it does not need to be constrained to one theme. What I like is merely a reflection of their nature.

Oh, yeah----I would DEFINITELY say I have an eclectic taste!! I'm just as content watching, say, "Charlie Rose", as I am watching "Sid the Science Kid" (a cartoon)----and, just as happy watching, say, "Love, Actually", as I am watching a "shoot-'em-up" (ie "Terminator 2", or "Die Hard").

Yep, I watch practically everything. I don't care what it is, as long as it's good. Today, I watched a historical Renaissance drama (The Tudors) and yesterday I watched a 90s British sitcom about a hotel owner (Fawlty Towers :D ).
