The new Dune movie. It is the first half of Frank Herbert's Dune novel done as a movie. The director Dennis Villenueve has been green-lighted to make Dune-II which is the rest of the story.

Reborn.

Concept interesting but the script, acting and plot were basically awful.

Last night we watched Train to Busan [2016] again and then we watched its sequel:

Peninsula [2020]
-=-"4 years later..."
We watched it with English subtitles, rather than dubbed into English—and I caught myself reading the English subtitles even during the parts of the movie spoken in English.

We enjoyed both films. Note, however, the sequel is a stand-alone sequel; it takes place (mostly) in Korea and assumes the events and zombies of the first movie but is otherwise independent of it. And I think the sequel is not quite as good. They tried to have more story lines. Too many. It lacked the focus of the first movie. But it was still a reasonably entertaining zombie-apocalypse horror not-a-comedy movie.

Venom: There Will Be Carnage.

Brock and his Symbiote must confront a serial killer, escaped from death row, who has his own Symbiote. Full of laughs, and even better than the original, in my humble opinion.

So did my mom, my NT sister, and me. 8)

(However, our mom did not believe that Benedict Cumberbatch was the voice of this new Grinch.)

The Big Steal (1949)

Another from my Film Noir box set. Two US army officers and a con man chase each other around Mexico, periodically stopping to sock each other in the mouth in various locations. The finale is quite effective, with a 'twist in the tail', as they say. Stars Robert Mitchum as our hero, and Jane Greer as eye candy, though she has some good lines. This was a colourized version for some reason, the original being in black and white.

7/10

Full movie here, but it's in Spanish: https://youtu.be/z2TVsXev55o

The attempts at speaking Spanish by Mitchum's character are hilarious, by the way.
