My main complaint was with the alteration on the Super-class Star Destroyer. In every book and sourcebook it was been stated as 8km in length. However, because some fans think that it is 11km in the trilogy, it has now been altered to be 19km. :? This is the most idiotic thing I have seen, in a large part due to Curtis Saxton's flawed and erroneous "Technical Commentaries", a resource used a lot by Wookieepedia that most of it's adherents seem to regard as flawless. It is rife with flaws however, as some Star Wars fans have shown. It basically takes Star Wars and used flawed reasoning and theories to alter what has already been established via the 12 years of books that make up a large part of the Expanded Universe of Star Wars. Even if it was larger, the publishing of the 8km length as recently as 2004 make it more legitimate as it is used with the majority of the material and is accurate to the film. Agreed?

Yes. And also becos in ESB, the Executor looks about 8k in relative to the Imperial-class Star Destroyers around it, which are 1.6k long.

By the way, I wish all success to your publishing endeavor.

The imperators are actually tiny compared to the executor. 11-12 times the length. I wouldn't say saxton was wrong. If anything we should happy because we have a bigger ship then other sci-fi series. :D

eh, you got me there. But the Eclipse and Death Star were pretty much a special case. The Executors were pretty numurous. I estimate naga sadow's mothership might be 900 meters across. Warships were tiny back then.

Actaully... only 2 SSDs were ever built. The Executor, which was Darth Vader's flagship, and the Lusankya, which was originally used as a giant POW facility, buried under the Imperial City on Coruscant (in fact, its where they sent Jan Dodonna after they captured him at the Battle of Yavin), and it was later unearthed by an Imperial warlord called Ysanne Isard in order to escape from Coruscant after it was liberated by the New Republic and rebuild her power base. It was captured by the Republic (actaully just by Rogue Squadron - who had actaully temporaroly gone genuinely Rogue lol - and the prisoners) and renamed Rebel Star, and destroyed by the Yuuzhan Vong about 20 years later at the Battle of Borleias - I think it was a kamikaze mission on behalf of some general or other.

the guardian was definetly an executor class. there were 4 built by the battle of hoth. Han state in rotj that there were mant command ships so we can assume that by the battle of endor executor class were rather numerous.

You coud be rite actaully, cos Ive done some reserch, and the Guardian DID exist (Im fairly sure I had actaully herd of it before, it just slipped my mind - according to the reserch I did, it was involved in the New Jedi Order series, and I red the hole series), and I just remembered 1 other Super Star Destroyer - Iron Fist (this one was used by a more well-known Imperial warlord, Zsinj)

Just a correction to your statement. The Executor is a Super class Star Destroyer as it has been published as recently as 2006 now, with the 8km length intact. The Executor-class is more of a slang, regardless of what the SWIT book states.

Yeh Id been ignoring the fact that hed been referring to the SSDs as an Executor class, becos I had actaully herd that reference in canon (I cant remember where now, but I have. Probably in the New Jedi Order sumwere)

Unlike the rabid individuals who run Wookieepedia (to the point where they hurl aspersions on some of the New Republic's historians) I am disinclined to take what is stated on there at any value. The Executor, Lusankya and the various other Super-class Star Destroyers have always held to the 8km form. The Executor-class was in the book trilogy The Black Fleet Crisis, but as this was slang, it proves what I have been stating: That the Executor, Lusankya and Iron Fist are all Super-class Star Destroyers, are 8km long and have the weapon complement that they have always had.
