Kantara

There is some awesome choreography like the buffalo race scene or anything with the deities taking possession of the mediums. Unfortunately, the main character is written really messy and a lot of the movie meanders. I hope it gets remade with a more focused script someday.

The Yellow Wallpaper.

Based on the short story of the same name, a 19th century doctor's wife is taken by her husband to a summer home to recover from what we today would term anxiety disorder and postpartum depression, where he strictly forbids her to follow her chosen career as a writer. So instead, she stares at the yellow wallpaper of the bedroom, and gradually goes insane.
Decent enough film adaption, but it's hard for any movie to grasp the inner world of a character's mind on the written page and transfer it to film.

It's not great but it's decent. People can be too harsh on horror movies. Acting is good. Interesting to have baby sharks as a serious threat.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) on Max

The CGI visuals are great.

That's what I have to say about it that's positive. The visuals are great. Really great.

I don't like saying negative things about a film because I'm sure there are people that will love it. Plus, I'm certain people worked hard on this movie. So I will remain silent about the things I found befuddling. It wasn't terrible. Mothra is in the movie, and looks awesome.

Oh my gosh! Did someone give some nine year old children drugs and ask them to write a story? In my mind I kept imagining a nine year old saying "And then - And then - And then... this thing happened and Kong says Not on my watch! and then he pats little red haired Kong on the head and says you're my favorite."

I checked IMDB, and some people rated it a 10. I gave it a 5. It looked good. It looked expensive. It looked better than Plan Nine From Outer Space.

Still, and I mean it, to each their own.

- three hours later -
I'm probably being too harsh. The fact that I did not enjoy the story means it did not 'click' with me.
Currently watching the movie Ghost Walk (2018) on Tubi TV. It appears I've watched it before. I remember parts, but mostly I much of it I don't remember. It is Korean.

The most brutal and gorey Bollywood action movie yet. I like that the villains have some personality. The train setting enhances the movie. I would recommend for action and train fans.

I went it with low expectations and thought it was pretty decent. Has a detective novel quality with a lot of mystery, and it's based on one so it makes sense. I usually like Karl and Sofia. Also it has that hard-boiled feeling with a bit of comedy and romance to where it's a good balance.

Momo.

Documentary on the life and times of Momo (Sam) Giancana, the head of the Chicago mob. Explores his family life which was contradictory with his ruthlessly violent criminal life, his involvement in the CIA/Mafia plots to assassinate Fidel Castro, his alleged role in the Kennedy assassination, and the possible identities of the men who murdered him.
Interesting, but too much emphasis on how he was a good husband and father, considering who and what he was.

Vertigo

It’s one of my favorite movies.

Hell Comes To Frog Town.

Movie so bad it's good.
Pro-wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper stars as Sam Hell, a sex offender in a dystopic, post nuclear war America, where he is given a pardon for his crimes in return that he helps repopulate America (most people are sterile). But first, he must save women held captive by Frog mutants. Somewhat inspired by Harlan Ellison's A Boy And His Dog.

The original Train to Busan is great if you haven't seen it. This sequel is about a new set of characters. It has well made moments but the emotional core isn't as strong as the original.
