Long Legs. It was pretty good. Had a lot of plot holes though.

What is your opinion about Nicolas Cage's performance?

I thought he did a fantastic job. I was very disturbed by him, and at times I really had to squint to see him under all that makeup. I would've preferred if there was a little less of him in the movie though. I think he was at his creepiest at the beginning, when he crouched down.

What did you think of it?

"A Beautiful Mind" has one of the best openings I've ever seen in a movie. I get chills every time I see it and as someone who loved Math in high school and does it's a wonderful movie and highly, highly recommend it to anyone who's never seen it. I love everything about the story and such a great performance by Russell Crowe. I think John Nash was on the autism spectrum if this movie accurately displays his personality.

That movie really hits me emotionally. One of my favorite biographical films.

Last night we watched:

Ezra [2023]
<=>"To do right by his son, one dad will go the distance."

Not my normal type of movie. There were no spaceships, ray-guns, or robots. But:
○ The movie is about an Autistic boy played by an Autistic boy and his very supportive father
○ Written by Tony Spiridakis who, according to IMDb, has an Autistic son
○ Has a distinguished cast really, look at the cast list! including Alex Plank also credited as Associate Producer

We both liked the movie.

Slightly better than really bad.

I love this movie.
I'm watching the film's opening scenes that you posted. I'm also watching the first episode of the television series Wonderfalls. A Beautiful Mind has the scene where the light refraction and patterns follows from object to object to the tie. On Wonderfalls, Jaye Tyler follows a quarter, rolling down some steps, bouncing into a sack, and the sack gets thrown away. She pulls the sack from the trash, retrieves the quarter, and the sun light bounces off a gem attached to a purse that was previously stolen and reflects on Jaye's face. This happened just after the comment about the mathematical formula for the bad tie.
If you want to see the series of events I described, I've found it on YouTube. The link is synced up to when Jay pulls the quarter from a fountain. Wonderfalls 1x00 - Unaired Pilot - synced to the 00:16:34 mark. It is the whole first episode, which is why I synced it up, but after it fades to black, stop it, because it will continue, and the quality is horrible because of the compression.

Is it math? Probably not. It's not even cause and effect. I just like synchronicity. You posted something three days ago. I started backing up my Wonderfalls DVD a few hours ago (disc 3 is on the edge of being unplayable). Then I start watching my backup, and also decide to change my avatar back, followed by catching up on posts, bringing me you your posts, watching the YouTube clip, the clip ends, and the Wonderfalls scene with the quarter starts on my playback.

Meanwhile...

@Double Retired - Thanks for watching Ezra and posting it, because it is one of those previews I saw ages ago, planned to see the film, and then promptly forgot about it. That's the problem I have with previews. I don't remember if it played at my local theater or not.

Thank you for sharing! I will definitely take a look at Wonderfalls. Whenever I see the Beautiful Mind clip I keep thinking maybe I should have gone on to studying Math more in college. I went up to Calculus I and then never went beyond. I have a couple different Calculus textbooks still as well as college physics books. I ended up going into Accounting. Which involves math somewhat but it's a little different. I am definitely intrigued though by Wonderfalls! Sounds like a neat show :)

Creature From Black Lake.

Really bad seventies movie, indulging in the Bigfoot craze at the time.

Love the movie "Crimson Tide" made in 1995 if anyone has ever seen it. Definitely in my list of top fictional military movies! Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman were excellent! This movie brings up alot of excellent questions regarding launching nuclear weapons without clear orders. The ending leaves you with some things to think about and I'm sure it gave military leadership questions to consider at the time.

Last night we watched:

Diani & Devine Meet the Apocalypse [2016]
<=>"They're so not prepared."

Some unspecified apocalypse happens and Etta and Gabe have to survive it with no idea what has happened, no clear idea of what to do, few relevant skills, and almost no relevant resources...but at least they have each other.

"Etta" and "Gabe" are played by Etta Devine and Gabriel Diani...
"Etta"...who also were the two directors of the film...
"Etta" and "G...and the two writers of the film...
"Etta" and "Gabe" a...and two of the many producers of the film.

And it is a good film!

The unspecified apocalypse is just the stage for this entertaining comedy.

Perhaps not the best film you'll ever see but...

<=>good R E C O M M E N D E D good

Last night we watched:

Wag the Dog [1997]
<=>"A Hollywood producer. A Washington spin-doctor.
<=+=+=+=+=>When they get together, they can make you believe anything."

The President has done something very inappropriate...involving sex and and a woman he is not married to. The President (and his team) are worried it could affect his image.

Solution? Manufacture some news stories to distract the public.

Note: The movie's opening date in theaters was December 28, 1997, slightly before the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal exploded. There are similarities between the two.

And, some things more modern you're aware of might also come to mind. :roll:

And, maybe, some of my earlier posts.

I saw this a month ago and it was excellent! Love Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford.
