Back in the 1990s cartoon shows used to be on top, but now, teenage, corny reality shows were the mainstream. What the heck is going on with this generation? Is it because of too much pride and greed, or is there too much stupidity? I really can't stand teenage reality shows neither 3D cartoons like the 3D Chuck e' cheeses. I wish they would bring back all of the old shows that were back in the 90's.

I guess kids of today will be making the same comments about how much worst shows have got since they were kids.

Let me tell you, shows of the 90s had nothing on Kids shows of the 60s,

We had more cartoons than you could shake a stick at, but they were nothing compared to the real shows we had back when money was spent.

Heres a few I remember, (these are all real shows with real people Apart from the real Puppets)

Batman,
Lost in Space
Daktari
The Monkees
The Banana Splits
Robinson Crusoe
Star Trek
Fireball XL5
Thunderbirds
Bewitched
The Munsters
The Adams family
Casey Jones
I Dream of Genie
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
Land of the Giants
The Time Tunnel
Dr Who
White Horses, (For Girls)
Captain Scarlet
Robin Hood
Tarzan
Flipper
Skippy the Bush Kangaroo

Bored now

I totally get your point. I grew up watching Nicktoons from the '90s. They were so much better than the ones we have today. If only TeenNick didn't put reruns at a late-night time slot...

A partial list of cartoons I liked back then...

Doug
Rugrats
Ren and Stimpy
Rocko's Modern Life
Aaah! Real Monsters!
Hey Arnold!
KaBlam!
The Angry Beavers
CatDog

In Québec there was a lot of anime for kids on television in the 80s and the 90s (Like most of the world back then, except where it was spoke english), not anymore. :(

I too remember fondly the cartoons of the 90's. For Nickelodeon I would watch The Rugrats, Hey Arnold, CatDog, Angry Beavers,The Wild Thornberries, and SpongeBob Squarepants (before it got stupid like it is today). For Cartoon Network I would watch Courage the Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken, and Ed, Edd, n Eddy. Now these channels have such crap shows that I really don't even bother watching them anymore, although I do like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and The Amazing World of Gumball on Cartoon Network (these cartoons actually don't suck and are pretty funny).

I don't really watch cartoons anymore but I've started liking documentaries lately. I now enjoy shows like Ghost Adventures, Bizarre Foods, Deadly Women, Pawn Stars, and River Monsters.

Well I don't watch TV now since the cartoons have shifted to underground while teen reality shows are trending.

Who's fault is it for causing this TV generation to go bust?

I don't think it's bust. I'm very close-minded about what I'll watch and I can name five cartoons I'm happily following right now, even as a 90's cartoon lover. Like video games, I think this is simply a matter of mainstream tastes having shifted, which still leaves a lot of good cartoons away from the spotlight and even a few in it.

Yes, the 90's cartoons were the best. I've watched cartoons from many different eras and the 90's are still the best. There are still tv shows I like on now, many very good ones. But all these reality shows and and awful modern cartoons I can't stand. Does there really need to be a show for every single job out there?

Indeed. Even spongebob in the 90's were extremely funny. But today's spongebob was really corny, pointless and especially annoying. Spongebob today was really pesky and his voice is now annoying than ever. It makes me want to kill spongebob by strangling him. I like to see him die. . . . . (sorry shifty feelings between violence and peace )

Oh do NOT get me started on Spongebob. I already made a thread about that one.

I live with a bratty little brother who's turning 14 this year and he's still watching Disney s**t. I feel I can't even escape it. I go to the dentist office and they have two TVs in the waiting room. I look on the right TV and I see some news channel. I look on the left TV and I see f***ing Disney! Good thing the place has Wi-Fi and my middle brother always brings his 3DS or his new touch-screen phone so we can watch Netflix otherwise I'd be pacing around bored until the doctor calls my name.

This shows my age, but I feel bad for today's kids who missed out on all of the great cartoons that were on in the 80's. Look at what we had back then:

- Super Friends (all iterations)
- He-Man and The Masters Of The Universe
- Thundercats (Original)
- Thundarr The Barbarian
- Superman Animated Series (1988)
- The Transformers (Generation 1)

And that's just a sample list! There's others but they don't come to mind right now.

I am partial to cartoons from the late 1980's, early to mid 1990's.

The Real Ghostbusters, Garfield and Friends, Batman: The Animated Series, X-Men, and my favorites, ReBoot and Talespin.
