Hello all,

I am new to this forum. I have been wondering whether I might have Asperger's. There are certainly many things in descriptions of Asperger's that I recognize, though also some that don't really seem to fit me.

I am currently going through the worst period of my life. My relationship and engagement with the woman that I love, and have been with for 11 years, broke down almost two years ago. We still live together, and sometimes there are periods of calm when we do things together, but mostly we end up arguing.

One of the reasons I've come here is to ask for some advice on whether it seems likely that I had Asperger's, what the benefits are of being diagnosed, and perhaps to find some help with going through that process. Also, perhaps regardless of any diagnosis, the forum could give me a place to talk to people who understand my difficulties. I usually find it difficult to talk about myself in that way, however, so I don't know how well that will work out.

I plan to write some more about why I think I might have AS in another thread. For now I just wanted to say hello.
