Heh. I was rather reluctant to post an introduction; it seems rather like a waste, in some ways. However, since a forum has been denoted specifically for such an occasion, here I am!

I suppose I'll begin by following the format.

What is your first name? Buck (pseudonym)

Age: 16

Location: Tennessee

Hobbies and Interests: Music, Writing, Photography, Art in general, etc.

Why are you here? Why not?

When were you diagnosed? (skip if you don't have a disorder): Eighth Grade, about three years back...

Favorite subjects: Japanese, English, Pre-Calculus, Astronomy

Year/Grade: 11th

Favorite music: Erm, as genre goes, I'm very eclectic in preference. I tend to say that my top three are Rock, Jazz, and Classical.

Books: I haven’t read a good book in a while. I still like Redwall for now.

TV shows/Movies: The Boondocks, Family Guy, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Jin Roh : The Wolf Brigade

Instrument: Guitar, Violin, Piano and Harmonica (by ear), and I like banging on the drums.

Do you like sports? No

Family: What about "family"?

Clothing: I tend to dress comfortably, generally things that are very loose-fitting. I like baggy jeans and black shirts. I also wear a collar loosely around my neck. Oh, and I like fleeces and hoodies.

How did you find this website? I was too lazy to explain what an Aspie was to a friend, and she looked it up. She sent me the site via AIM.

Job: Unemployed.

Plans for the future? I have many… Long range, I’d like to be a professional musician. Hopefully these high school rock bands will get me somewhere. I’d also like to persue, possibly, a writing career, and I want to move to Wyoming. I find seclusion and wilderness to my liking. Short range, I’m focusing on getting my parents to let me go to the local fur meet and passing 11th grade.

Any comments? Umm… would this pertain to me, the website, or something other?

I suppose that was the easiest way to introduce myself, besides my own misunderstandings ^__^ however, I suppose it’s only fair to mention that I have a tendency to speak in a polyglot manner online, particularly with the phrase, "my friend." So, if you see "mon ami," "(boku no) tomodachi," "mi amigo," "(tachi si) kaigoro," or the like, know that it means "my friend." Otherwise, you’ll mostly see Japanese and English.
Oh, and I think I may be one of the few furs (if not the only one) that use the word "mate" colloquially, as in friend.

There’s plenty more to know about me. If you want to know, just ask. If it’s something you should know, then I will tell you.

Well, the night is growing to morning, so I’ll me off. sayounara, and sweet dreams!

Yours,
Buck Daniel Masters

Suilad. :) I'm glad you're here at WP and I hope you enjoy it, Buck.

And, no, I don't think you are the only one who uses "mate" as another word for "friend". Be sure to check out the Arts, Crafts and Music forum when you get the chance. :D

Assassin:

what you have said, basically, is, "Good Afternoon, Buck. I am in the Japanese language." If you meant that you take the class, you probably wanted to say something more along the lines of, "watashi wa nihongo no jugyou wo torimasu," which means, "I take Japanese (language class)."
Also, there should be the "ga" particle after "nihongo" in your sentence.
I hope you don't mind me correcting you ^^i I'm just trying to help! ...even though my knowledge is also severely limited. Very formalized is my Japanese right now.

oh, and please, I prefer bakku-kun ;-) hee hee, it's just a preference.

------

Namiko:

What is suilad? I've heard it before, but I want to make sure I know what it is. Oh, and thank you very much ^__^

I would say that because a lot of them get very confused about my use of the word, "mate." ^^i I suppose, in retrospect, it's impossible for me to be the only one.

I'll be sure to check it out when I get the chance.

------

Thanks for getting back to me, mates!

Unless you are a Northern England English speaker (which rhymes bucks with hooks), Bucks, rhymes with cup, sounds more like "a" in Japanese, therefore it should be bakku rather than buku. Short consonants causes germination as well, hence the double consonant instead of a single one.

Watashiwa Nihongo dekimasu? that sounds strange to my ears... I'll probably say Nihongo-ga wakarimasu.
