blah. i know who i am not. my profile has said, "not sure if i have it or not" for quite a long time. not because i am actually unsure, just because i have no desire to go tell a psychologist to write down what i tell them and prescribe what i tell them and diagnose what i tell them, and waste an hour of my time for no other reason than to be able to change my profile on the WP to "offically diagnosed."

That isn't going to help you though if some anonymous Russian Mafia types have emptied your bank account or taken loans out in your name etc. I'm amazed how some people are so free with their personal details especially with the massive increase in phishing and identity theft. It can take years to claim back your identity and be trusted by financial organisations etc.

I had my identity stolen by a former employer in New York City. Unbeknownst to the former employer I had moved to Sioux City, Iowa immediately after leaving their employ. When American Express (!) called me in Sioux City and asked me when I was going to make a payment on $9,999.00 I just started laughing and said I could send a copy of my lease and of my pay stubs showing I had not been in New York City for all the time the debt had occurred (in NYC) even the collector guy had to chuckle. I just got a credit check and gave the names and addresses (that I had thoughtfully remembered to take each one of their business cards) and I never heard from American Express again.

It's not just on the net, I've had my identity used by a former 'friend'. It was in the days before photo licences and she knew a lot about me like birthdate and all, so when the cops booked her for some driving offense and she used my identity.

I read recently of someone losing their home in America due to identity theft. Someone had enough information about a person to sell their home from under them while they were away on holiday. The scam didn't come to light until the people who bought the house arrived with a removals truck and found the house already occupied. The original owners got to keep the house but they had to take out a new mortgage and buy it back off the people who had been duped into buying it. The identity thief made off with the sale proceeds of the house and was never found.

I think the house belonged to the buyer not the duped original owners because all the legal process went through, signing of deeds etc even though the sellers signatures were fake and they knew nothing of the sale.

Well I am not really Kaleido, or at least I am, but only on here.

I like to think that I have attained a great deal of neurotypicality and am on the threshold of being diagnosed as 'normal'. I am normal when I am alone, its just the expert who diagnosed me who thinks I have Aspergers, well and a few others too. If we all separately believe what we believe, who has the truth?

I know a few people who aren't who they say they are. Sometimes it's the habit in which they post that's a dead giveaway.

I'm suspicious of people whose first post is straight into the Adult or PPR forum. I think most people tend to start out more nervous and reserved and asking questions about Aspergers. I'm sure some people have multiple logins.
