customers
Been working as a Lot Attendant at Home Depot for three years and three months and counting.
Customers:
almost hit me with cars a couple of times a day. paying attention to your surroundings is not always good enough. sometimes customers make me load their merchandise and while i am trying to do that, other customers drive cars way too close to me.
have the nerve to scream "Chino!" @ me
off leash dogs
A customer had the nerve to tell me "I don't care about the doctor's note. Put it in the car!", when I told the customer that I had a doctor's note that I was not allowed to lift over fifty pounds.
Customers have the nerve to honk car horns at me, or bark @ me, just b/c they want me to give them one of the five carts that I was currently pushing, even though the lobby contains plenty of carts. (Loud noises scare me and they are often unnecessary."
"Can you," as a request. But "can", "should", and "will" are all three different things. How about "Please can you please go commit suicide? You can do anything you set your mind to!".
"huh" and "what" instead of "excuse me".
laughing @ me
touching me
screaming and swearing @ me
demanding
impatient
rude
I know you're venting, but it's not the customer's job to find the appropriate employee to load something into a car when the loading is considered part of the purchase. Your manager either should've assigned someone for things you can't lift, or you need to go find such a person. Places like hardware stores typically load heavy things into vehicles, so the customer isn't wrong to expect it.

Yes but the customer could have asked someone else to load it.
The sign on the cabinet says "567lbs". I find it hard to imagine that anyone could load the cabinet. Even if they could lift 567#, the cabinet is too large and awkwardly shaped. However even if someone could load a cabinet, they would still earn only minimum wage

The customer is always right in matters of taste.
People always forget the second part of that saying.

everyone has subconscious biases.
"at will" employer.
the training videos say that if the customer is rude or disrespectful, tell a manager. however, i'm afraid the customer was having sex with the manager and the manager will take the customer's side and make my worthless corpse redundant.
any two insects could have sex, and my worthless corpse, does not have the (1) legal right (2) moral right (3) physical strength, to prevent the larvae from having sex. (sometimes, i feel like the entire solar system is having one large *orgy* without me.

today, a customer asked me to unlock the bathroom. (the bathroom has a code lock). then he had the nerve to touch me. "can you not touch me?", i said (did not scream). that self righteous lil dipshit had the nerve to bark @ me "get out of here, Motherf***er! i don't need you!". so i did not answer, nor did i unlock the bathroom. he didn't touch me again either. annoying alberto was in the lockerroom eating pepperoni pizza and asked "you want me to ban him?". "you don't have the authority to ban him." "yes i do. you do too." ("keep your hands to yourself," ass hole!)

"customer always right." the customer can make almost any action or statement and get away with it, legal or illegal. the building that i work in, has 2 cops and plenty of security guards at all times. however, they are not there when you need them. they are often standing around talking.

today, i was pushing carts when a customer had the nerve to bark @ me "get yo ass over here, boy!". so i went over there and the ass hole had the nerve to tell me the same thing again. "the schedule says that i have to go to lunch right now," i correctly told him. "i am going to report you. what yo name, boy? i want yo job!". (i didn't answer.) the lil dipshit and i went to the cashier and he told the cashier "he said he can't help me load b/c the schedule says he has to go to lunch." the cashier asked me if anyone else was in the parking lot. "roy," i answered. the cashier said she would call someone. "thank you," i said, and then went to lunch. after lunch, looked around for the self righteous lil dipshit. could not find him.
i do not know if the ass hole didn't care, understand, or believe what i told him. the ass hole acted like he knew everything. and he had the nerve to bark @ me and swear @ me and order me around, before i had even interacted with him. there is a new policy on the wall of the breakroom, that says that employees are now required to take lunch @ the scheduled time, or otherwise at most 4 hours and 40 minutes after clocking out. otherwise, the employee has to have a conversation with a manager.
i am 41 years old and i find it rude for him to have the nerve to call me "boy". yes, i know i do not look 41, but whatever. i hate working in the service industry. some idiots truly believe that service industry employees are their slaves. self righteous lil dipshits.
(also, i am asian and he appeared black to me.) (things not always the way they appear). i wonder how he interacted with the black employees. however, he did not say anything to indicate that he was racist. on the other hand, i find it hard to imagine that he would talk to a black employee the same way.
none of the supervisors/managers talked to me about the customer. nobody brought it up. so i didn't either.
s**t, i wish i had a professional job, in an office where everyone in the building works for the company. no public. no customers.
the training videos say that if the customer is rude or disrespectful (such as this customer), tattle to a manager. however, sometimes there is only one manager in the building. that manager could be anywhere in the building. by the time the manager stops being busy and comes to the scene, the customer might've already left. or the manager might be having sex with the customer. the manager might be biased in the customer's favor (affinity group), for any reason or no reason. (not necessarily racism, sexism or homophobia). everyone has subconscious biases. anyone that claims to know "the truth" is the most wrong, s**t. (rolls eyes). one of the managers, ASM Gabriel, has interacted with me once (he's new) and that time, he had the nerve to bark @ me for failing to stack a pallet, but the Receiving Supervisor told him that i have a doctor's note. another of the managers, ASM DS, had the nerve to bark @ me, b/c she called me on the walkie talkie and i failed to answer (i couldn't hear b/c the parking lot too loud). the managers at home depot, i think, are not nearly as good @ critical thinking as they act like they are. only two of the managers are female. only one of the managers is asian. i think zero of the managers are transsexual or autistic. "at will" employer. home depot, not required to come up with a jury of the defendant's peers. no fair trial. nothing like that. the managers have termination authority. my job is a dime a dozen. anyone old monkey could do my job. home depot could easily hire another loser to replace me. besides, plenty of jobs had the nerve to make my worthless corpse redundant. i would have an extremely difficult time finding the next job. the customer appeared cisgender, neurotypical, and extroverted to me. with the exception of CXM norman, all the managers appear extroverted to me.
self important, entitled, self righteous, annoying lil dipshits. the bane of my existence.
in the customer's defense, however, maybe he was "doing his best". assistant manager javier said "it is all good." (the customer's behavior was "all good.") the training videos say "as long as you are doing your best, you are always good w/home depot.". (way too ambiguous).
home depot needs metal detectors, and a sobriety checkpoint.
home depot attracts a disproportionate number of customers that appear to have felony convictions, short fuses, and psychiatric diagnoses. rikers island jail and john george psychiatric pavillion.
some customers (other precious lil "people", like kayla b***h and rolando penis) act like they truly believe that they have a moral "right" to be happy @ all times, and any time they are not happy, it proves that someone violated their stupidass "rights".
