We have been having lots of problems with DS lately, not scholastic but psychological. The school psyche has suggested that DS be re-evaluated by the Regional Center as he believes that DS is High Function and should receive aid at home. Of course the Regional center does not want to re-open DS case. What should I do?

I have been going through testing with my local regional center; the tester lady who also teaches at the university said I fit the criteria of H.F.A due to delayed speech. I am still not clear on the differentials, they are labels, I just know A.S does not qualify from what I was told.

Although I would lobby there funding in the form of grants that they receive to assist those with A.S who would benefit.

They typically help people with more severe disabilities, H.F.A is one of them. However to use proper terminologies I would say more differences.

Requist an appeal with them, ask for a new intake.

i know the thought of a new eval is distasteful, but....stop to consider what the benefits will be for him. are there any services he would qualify for with and HFA label ? are there services that he would only qualify for being an aspie ? in my state, aspies over the age of 21 receive little to no state funding.
