The reason I ask is because I am currently on my 2nd play-through of Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

I can play a game many times, but I can only beat a storyline once.

If I enjoy it to begin with then I can play it through many times without getting bored. I don't think there is a limit.

When I love a game, I'll play it over and over and over and over again :)
When a game is okay or is one where it's not fun to replay right away (Professor Layton series is one), I'll play it again in a year or so and enjoy it just as much :)
I won't finish a game that I'm not fond of :P

I think that question has many different answers relative to the game one is currently playing. I think I played Dragon Age Origins like 8 times, and I played Jade Empire about five times through... where as I played the craptastic Mass Effect 2 and could barely handle the monotonous kill a room full of nearly infinite enemies over and over again gameplay for even a single go. I also think that story has something to do with re-playability. Jade Empire had a classic story that never gets old... Mass Effect two's story got incredibly boring and predictable 20 minutes into the game. After I snuffed out the final boss on insanity mode I threw Mass Effect 2 in its game case and tossed it in my closet. So I guess to me if the game isn't crap... I can play it many times over. If it sucks... I may not even play the entire game.

It depends, I'll play through a game at least once, the later (months or years) I'll get the urge to play through again (differently if the option exists).

Most games I don't finish. The ones I really like I can replay dozens of times without getting bored.

I've played Elite/ArcElite/FE2/FFE a thousand times, and I'm not being metaphorical. DF and the Civilisation, Total War and Elder Scrolls series are similar timesinks. Sandpit stuff I can play a lot.

depends on the game.

sometimes i lose patience before the titles are done; sometimes years.

be more specific.

Open-ended rpg titles will suck me in for months at a time as I play and replay, trying all of the different options and doing it more "perfectly" each time. In those cases I'll either avoid the main quest for a very long time or push it through asap depending on the game.

I don't usually replay other games unless they were extremely entertaining.

Depends on the game.

Some games I'm content to play through once, others almost require further play throughs to get the most out of (like Fallout 3).

Depends on games. If it has awesome replayability then I play it more then once, twice, triple. If it has an awesome story I would remember. I definitely would play it again because of the story. For shooters....Once is enough.

Depends on the title and how entertaining it is to play.

Yep same as.

I still come back to well made games with dynamic campaigns such as Silent Hunter 3, Battle of Britain 2 wings of victory and IL-2 Sturmovik

Games with open ended modifiication, strong community support and solid gameplay will always have a greater longetivity then linear hard coded titles that are almost play and forget games.

I play games for the story, if it's good I will play it again a year later or so but normally only once.
