If you're a fan of horror games have you tried out Amnesia? That truly is the definition of a horror game. Had me frightened to death whilst playing lol. Although as someone said it (I think it was the web series Extra Creditz) most companies have truly lost touch with what a horror game is - especially the franchises, and now have turned their games from horror to an action game with horror elements. Which I totally agree with.

I have never heard of it but I will definetly check it out. Is it a PS3 game? :)

To be honest I don't really like PC games that much, it seems like too much work getting my computer set up just right to play the games. :(

Aww >__< I totally know how you feel! I remember with my older PC it could barely play games like Sims 3 and WoW on the LOWEST settings lol (hell, even trying to work in Macromedia Flash/Adobe Photoshop was an effort) - so I ended up forking out for a good modern computer which runs pretty much anything top spec =D Although I'm just sad there are a lot of old games from my childhood I can't play anymore such as the original Theif :(

I've just realised I've COMPLETELY derailed this topic XD

OK will do. :)

I kind of wish Siren 2 on the PS2 wasn't region locked, then I could import the English version from Europe. Siren 2 actually seems like the best game in the series and it's too bad it was never brought to the US. The characters all seemed a lot more interesting and the idea of the game being set on an island insted of a mountain village made more sense because of the whole mermaid theme of the game. Plus Siren 2 had Japanese characters like in the first game but also allowed you to pick up weapons from shibito like in Blood Curse. :)

Look into Swap Magic - you might need to check that it works on NTSE consoles. If it doesn't - then find an equivalent - but it lets you mod your PS2 to play import games :) It's how I've managed to play games like Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+

There's a good chance someone has made a walkthrough online somewhere that you can follow. No shame in using a walkthrough with an imported game.

If you really want to get into the lore, I'm sure someone's translated it online.

I tried doing this with Goemon for the PS2 =/ I found that it took a lot of fun out of the game when you don't actually know what's going on - I got it because I'm a bit of a Mystical Ninja fanboy :P

Although to be honest, it was a pretty bad game...

I'm still thinking about rather or not I should import this game. The downside to this game is that the text is in Japanese which I can't read and it's heavily censored, but on the bright side I would get to play as Ada Wong again in the mini game Separate Ways. Ada is my favorite game character of all time and I feel that I owe it to her to own a game on disc in which I can enjoy her awesomeness all the time.

Siren Blood Curse will take top priorty but if my Mom decides I can buy two games I may just go ahead and import Biohazard: Revival Selection, or just wait until my birthday to import it.

Resident Evil 4 (errr.....Biohazard 4 in this case) is one of those games where you don't really need knowledge of Japanese to play it. A lot of the puzzles, for example, are of the "use this key" or "place this gem" or "turn this crank" variety.

If worse comes to worst you can always just learn Katakana, which is usually used for English words, and for emphasis on Japanese words. If you sound out the Katakana for certain items and such, you can easily figure out how to progress. If you'd like me to elaborate further, I could. Just have to eat right now. >_>

I dunno, I guess it wouldn't hurt to try and it could be useful for other imported games but I really don't have the time or attention span to learn a new langauge right now. Maybe some day in the future I could practice on it, I mean learning a new langauge can have all kinds of useful purposes.

But yeah like you said the Japanese text in the game doesn't really effect the gameplay that much, but one thing that kind of stinks about the Japanese version of this game is that it's heavily censored. I think maybe I should just try to download the US version of the game on PSN.

Grr I can't make up my mind. DX

Yeah, the censorship is a problem with Japanese versions of certain Capcom games. Like Shadow of Rome, which has green blood and the gore was significantly toned down. (compared to the US version which has red blood and limbs going everywhere) I'd say, if the censorship is that big of a deal (IMO it is) then maybe download the PSN version. At least if you play through it and get rid of it, you can always get it back for free, rather than paying for another disc.

Yeah I guess you're right, besides I think the PS3 will probably be around a lot longer than the 360 will so I don't think I have to worry about loosing my download by PSN getting disabled. :P
