I think globalism is a much bigger threat to the world than the USA.

We in the USA are just cuddly bunnies we'd never hurt anyone :)

The same thing you are doing here. Reading what other people thoughts are on the USA and the world.

The fix is in. The Israelis will attack Iran.

Biden practically said as much the other day. Apparently the Obama administration isn't opposed to "off-shoring" certain jobs, I mean the Israelis really have the most experience in the field, and we can pay them in arms systems that are already fully vested. It's not like the Arabs can hate them any more, right?

attacking Iran at this point is the worst possible course of action, there will be a revolution in Iran against the Ayatollah, he is finished. The only way he could retain any sort of legitimacy is if someone attacked Iran, say, Israel. That would be a catastrophic and ridiculous foregin policy...oh, ok, I nearly forgot about the last decade.

and yes the US is a threat, unlike islam it has both the means and the will (as with Islam in the 'is islam a threat' thread I refer to those in power and not the people). leading upto the second world war the US was involved in approximately 1.2 military conflicts every year, after WW2 that rose to 2.1.

One of the few positives of the recession is that it will severely restrict the scope of operations of the US government, "n number of million unemployed and you want to invade countries x, y and z? have you seen the bill for Iraq???? get a grip mr president!!" And Obama is just a nice face for slightly smarter imperial policies.

There's almost zero chance of a revolution being sucessful in iran. I don't see america attacking another country for a while either, although as a previous poster has stated, it wouldn't surprise me if the need arised to see it outsourced to israel.

Ok I really need to know where you're getting these numbers from. 2.1 million conflicts? Do you mean shots being fired in central america and a us military advisor being stationed a few miles away? I can't imagine the US even affording 2.1 million conflicts unless someone took the most spurriously correlated circumstances, called them conflicts and found a way to connect those dots to the US. What source did you get this from?

where does it say million? it says 1.2 and 2.1 military conflicts. And the figures come from Sardar and Wyn-Davies Why do people hate America?, before any reactions to the title it is a pretty well balanced examination/exploration of the same question some americans asked in the immediate aftermath of 9/11

nothing hurts your credibility so much as not being able to read

America needs a "military presence" in the Pacific and the Indian Ocean and Eastern Europe.

Do Canada or Mexico or Sweden or New Zealand claim that they need a military presence in Eastern Europe?

Does Canada, Mexico or Sweeden view themselves as the world's police?
