Nah, that's just when they get defensive. From where I'm standing they spew all kinds of anti-logical (and in my opinion, highly immoral) crap before an atheist touches a thread...but then I consider Christian "morality" to be superficial and hypocritical (if existant at all), and Christian "logic" to be bizarrely illogical and with an all-too-eager acceptance of the physically impossible.

There's something ironic about calling a thread 'Arrogant Christian Comment Thread', and it filling up with arrogant Christian comments

It's almost like he knew what was going to happen...

Or that he was trying to...

Or maybe it's just ironic. This is still a funny thread.

If you read the entire thread, you'd see that he, along with other christians, was using the same tactics that all evolution deniers use. Poke holes in your opponents arguments without defending your own position. This amounts to an "Either Or" falicy. If "A" isn't right, then "B" is correct. This is their logic. Why can't "C", "D", "E" or "F" be correct?? What makes the christian creation myth better than all the other religious creation myths that have existed?? The christians don't have logical answers for this. This puts the Evolution deniers in the same catagory as at least 2 other groops, the Holocaust deniers and the Moon Landing deniers. LOOK AT THE METHODS THEY EMPLOY. THEY'RE ALMOST IDENTICAL!! !

When it comes to the moon landing, there is no 'either or' fallacy because it's true. We either landed on the moon or we didn't. As unlikely (i.e., impossible) as it is that we didn't land on the moon, at least people use real logic when arguing that we didn't. That's more than can be said for the average creationist.

Whats wrong with wishing that people that attack other peoples faith go to a country where they can get shot for that. And you starting attacking Christians in a post that was all about Christianity, do you go to like the zjam site and attack Christians there too.

PS I spent most of my freetime last year helping people like Jammie so I think my morals are good, what do you guys do in your free time???

Just curious why is it physically impossible for God to exist, I would love to see the proof that not only are some Christian beliefs impossible but that God to exist period. I also dont get how you insult other people moral codes when you spend your time insulting other peoples believes.

The point is that believing a god exists is equally as absurd as believing that Superman exists. There is no need to prove that Superman does not exist. It is just so ridiculously absurd that it can be accepted on face value that it is fictional. Likewise for gods, dragons, elves, fairies, and mermaids.

I am quite serious when I say that a person who insists that god(s) exists is doing the same thing as insisting that dragons exist. And then you say, "Prove to me that dragons don't exist". The burden of proof lies with the god/dragon believers, not with the non-believers.

I do not need to prove that gods do not exist for the same reason I do not need to prove that mermaids do not exist.

It would be ironic if Mermaids really did exist.

This post started with people calling others arragont, just an instigative tactic to piss people off.

Whats the problem? There are scientific ways of discussing, logical deductional and intelectually educational without pissing off a group of people.

Debating with several (Biblical Literalist) Christians on this board, I've noticed that they have a tendancy to counter reasonable arguments with arrogance and anti-logical brain washing statements. Since I don't believe in cencorship or banning these people, I think their comments should be re-posted for all to see.

Here's a classic.....

That's a nice thought, and it's good that you could create it here in the image of the thought that was in your mind and breathe life into it by re-creating it on this page.

I have a request though, if you don't mind.

The next time you have any thoughts, instead of creating them here in the IMAGE of what's in your mind, could you pick those actual thoughts out of your brain and send them to me via FedEx so that I can hold your thoughts in my hand, look at them, know they are real, and understand them better?

What's that?

Your thoughts have no physical form?

Well, then I don't believe they exist.

Yet I am willing to make a deal with you.

I will entertain the possibility that your thoughts MIGHT exist, if you will entertain the possibility that my God MIGHT exist.

Didymus almost had a point untill this last line:
"I will entertain the possibility that your thoughts MIGHT exist, if you will entertain the possibility that my God MIGHT exist." That sounds to me like "I won't talk to you unless you agree with me."
