Watch your attitude there, kid! Ruveyn has more knowledge and wisdom than you and I put together, and that is simply because he's not likely to believe anything just because there may be "tons of claims" for it.
Astral projection is a myth that is based on a subjective delusion, which in turn is based on subjective hallucinations.
Only this, and nothing more.
Lies!
It's also a kick-ass power used in a bunch of pen-and-paper RPGs, as well as a mechanic in many videogames, including the acclaimed Prey.

Really? When he posted on my sun gazing thread it had absolutely nothing to do with sun gazing. It's like he's a program that spits off bits text that it thinks are relevant to the thread, clearly failing to do so at times.
I don't think I'm the one that needs an attitude adjustment, my sun gazing thread was closed quickly after opening just because some self-righteous moderators think they know everything. Which gave absolutely no time for anyone that actually practices sun gazing that may be on this forum to reply. There are tons of reports from individuals that sun gazing is helping them (Do a quick google or preferred you tube search, many people talk about their experiences, but it's ok to write them all off right? throw away potential evidence that supports the version of reality that you prefer not to believe)
and I'd believe them before believing some cooks on a forum that like to pretend they know everything when the universe is still a mystery.
You can believe what you want, millions also believe in heaven and hell which is complete bollocks. So If I see truth in something that has no 'empirical evidence' then so be it. Based on my readings and experiences I have no doubt that the physical reality is not all there is, I believe everyone will come to realize this. It certainly isn't pinned down by any religion we have on earth today (at least none I have found).

how is it possible to have consciousness within nonconsciousness? (a better word i think but it does not exist).
before i was born there was no me. there was no astral vehicle that contained my blueprint (although actually there was now i think about it......hmmm..the big bang has resulted in a perfect progression of energy density reduction in proportion to the complexity of the microcosmic realities that gave rise inevitably to me), anyway, my point was that because i had no brain matter before i lived, then it is not possible for me to have memories of before i had a brain.

i do not instinctively know what people are referring to when they say "soul". i guess they mean "the central seat of consciousness/awareness".
since consciousness requires life, then when life ceases, so does consciousness. and when one is not conscious, then the whole universe can happen in an unperceived instant of time.
i know all that, but it is nonetheless inconceivable to me that i will NEVER wake up again.

Either way, I have no doubt in my mind that this has not been my first time living out the life in mortal flesh, and I do not believe it will be the last.
you will never prove it and no one else will ever disprove it (this is not an attempt at a rhyme), so you will never know if you are correct.
i do not think about hocus pocus stuff such as being reincarnated like you do in short time frames (eg: act like a pig, come back as a pig)
the only think i have in common with you is that i am not certain that i will not be remanifested in the next respiratory cycle of the universe (which is another discussion altogether)

they are obviously rhetorical questions. Then what exactly were you talking about when you said this?

obviously not, I was pointing out that we do not know, so the possibility of it being true remains open.

That's because your thinking of the brain as the creator of consciousness. If you research near death experiences it looks a lot more like a receiver of consciousness than the creator. We may have been conscious as a soul but not in our physical body, so perhaps that's the period where our brains are forming a better connection to the soul.

You can remember flashes from random, most likely emotionally intense, scattered events right? The brain may have registered these moments in long term due to their emotional intensity but imo this does not mean that you were a fully conscious being at the time.

I intended to say that I stumbled across those thoughts months ago, the things that you wrote in prior comment. Not to say you wrote it months ago.

Not necessarily true, we believe life as we know it is a prerequisite for consciousness because of our materialistic point of view. But this is only a prerequisite for consciousness that we can perceive.

I may never prove it, but once I die I will see it to be true or not.

Where did I say anything remotely related to being reincarnated as a pig if you act like a pig? Your point of view is subjective, and that you think it is hocus pocus doesn't really interfere with the beliefs much. Looking back in history lots of things were considered hocus pocus that have turned out to be explainable in science.
