Excuse my ignorance, but don't you have paper or fabric bags in the US? :?

Here a lot of people have large fabric bags they use/reuse for grocery shopping, it's really nothing that unusual not to use plastic bags... A lot of people just do it for convenience, not necessarily for environmental reasons - you pay for a plastic bag and you end up with tens of them in a kitchen drawer...

In my youth, on an individual level there was so much less that needed recycling or dumping in the first place. Milk was delivered to your door by a milkman driving an electric float who took your empty bottles away to be sterilised and re-used tomorrow. Every small district had a small local butcher's, greengrocer's, etc. within walking distance for most people, where goods were portioned from a bulk supply, and most likely passed to you in paper wrapping - not a polystyrene tray wrapped in cling-film. One of my childhood hobbies was looking out for glass fizzy-pop bottles, which you could return to the corner shop for the return of a small deposit, and which were taken back to the fizzy-pop factory for refilling. The sound of bottles smashing at the bottle-bank doesn't just annoy my sensory traits - why can't the bottles just be cleaned and refilled? All of that was typical right across the UK during my childhood.

Last year, I saved an otter that was tangled up in a mesh of plastic grocery bags. He looked at me, smiled, and gave me his email address. We've kept in contact ever since. He sends me the best jokes. I should post some of them here when I get a chance. They're hysterical! Otters have a fantastic sense of humor!

I put up a bird box but later that day I was riding my bike and a bat flew into my head.

Yeah I even have some, I just haven't gotten great at remembering to bring them with me  so I need to improve that. They don't charge for them where I live so its not as if your grocery trip could cost a little more if you forget your own bags.

The only other thing is though, not sure how to avoid the little plastic veggie bags...much of the time the veggies are kind of wet even if they come in a bunch so you may not want wet veggies in your reusable bag or just sitting in the cart where they'll drip all over. I may just have to get online and see if they make some reusable or biodegradable bags I could order to use instead(but I would also have to remember to bring those).

My worm was never intended to be used for procreative purposes...
Only recreational activities...
It is a well-trained worm and I have a great fondness for it...

I shave traditional. So no disposable plastic razors or canned shave cream. And I get a better fun shave to top it off.

I used to do traditional shaving. All that stuff with the plastic razors and the canned foam is an expensive con and it doesn't work as well. Anyway I have a beard now... not an enormous one, just enough so I don't have to shave.

My having a long beard means I have very little shaving to do. I only shave the top of my cheeks to create shape, so even a disposable razor would last me at least a couple of weeks.

I use a standard multi-blade razor at present but it's not excellent just for the detailing I do. I think I'd probably be able to achieve a crisper shave with a straight razor, shavette or safety razor. What kind of razor do you use?

It seems it's not such a bad idea to charge for them then  We do the same for plastic bottles: if you return them to the store, you get some money back...
