Many white people also believe that “black lives matter.” They also believe in the methodology used by BLM in protests.

Wanting radical change transcends race.

I agree - but it also took only three posts in this thread for a white leftist to call BLM “liberal tokenism crap” and the NAACP “sellouts” because they’re talking about race rather than class.

People here in Portland are protesting other things too like the virus. It hasn't been violent at all and the on;y ones who have been violent have been the troops. People are protesting peacefully and they are being grabbed off streets by random troops, being tear gassed and Portlanders have been fighting back with leaf blowers by blowing them away. Then those got confiscated so someone brought in a big huge fan to blow away the tear gas.

I live in Portland so I have been listening to the people who have been at these protests and shared all these. It's nothing like what's been reported in the media. They are making us look like we are just being violent and wrecking buildings but that is just the graffiti they are showing on the federal building. It's only 3 blocks that are being used for protests.

So when protesters fight back, of course they are going to be portrayed as that is how they were before the Trump invasion.

Yes, I'm sure the AP reporter who was inside the building under siege would agree...
Quote:
“We are not here being violent or being destructive. We have a positive message — there is nothing to quell here,” she said, referencing Trump’s statement that the agents were there to quell unrest. “The people of Portland are saying, ‘We don’t want this presence here and we don’t think we need them at all.’”

As she spoke, small pods of three to four protesters dressed in black circulated in the crowd, stopping every few minutes to point green laser beams in the eyes of agents posted as lookouts on porticoes on the courthouse’s upper stories. The agents above were silhouetted against the dark sky as dozens of green laser dots and a large spotlight played on the courthouse walls, projected from the back of the crowd.

Thirty minutes later, someone fired a commercial-grade firework inside the fence. Next came a flare and then protesters began using an angle grinder to eat away at the fence. A barrage of items came whizzing into the courthouse: rocks, cans of beans, water bottles, potatoes and rubber bouncy balls that cause the agents to slip and fall.

Quote:
Inside the courthouse, it was dark, pitch dark except for one narrow ceiling bulb that cast a cone of light over the stairs.

Without lights, the agents hoped they would be better protected from people in the crowd who were firing metal ball bearings through the windows with sling shots. Thick ribbons of green light from blinding lasers crisscrossed the courthouse lobby, forcing the agents who were resting in between deployments to the fence to duck and weave to protect their eyes.

If that is what you call "protesting peacefully" and an "invasion" by federal officers, then I can certainly understand the critism of the US education system.

The protests in Portland aren’t “white,” “black,” or polka-dotted. There is a universalist element to them. Sort of like the protests against the Vietnam War and for civil rights.

Even Nixon wouldn’t have dared do what Trump is doing now.

No, he would have just tapped phones to add names of enemies to his list.

You don’t think Trump is doing just that?

That would explain why my phone connections have been exceptionally clear these last few years ...

... except for those clicking sounds ...

ED Mondainé is the CEO of BLM? This is news to me. I'm against BLM because I disagree with ED Mondainé?

A great deal of the issues the majority of blacks face in America are linked to class. Identity reductionism is just as flawed as class reductionism.
