AFAIK, you believe in God.
Belief in God and distrust towards religion is yet another mindset, quite popular where I live.

God can be totally separate from a place of worship.

I am not an atheist, I just hate religion.

Religions are set up to divide the "Righteous" from the "Atheists/Infidels/Sinners/Unrighteous/Whatever". They are not generally designed to bring people together, but only to condemn and separate.

I'm more of an agnostic than an atheist - my answer is a honest "I don't know" - and I don't hate religion but I hate it when religious people get tribal about it. I also hate it when unreligious people get tribal about it.
It's not my war and I hate getting ricochets from both sides.

He was pretty cool. I used to like him growing up.

He was a sheriff who had a deputy named Deputy Droop-a-Long whose bullets from his rifle used to sag, rather than go straight.

When is the last time you saw a "Samaritan", good or otherwise?
I think they are extinct.

I think it fair to say that god/evolution hates people with good intentions.

Ahhh.
Nostalgia.
Reminds me of my sex life,
When I had one.

I think the problem here is the assumption in the question that religion and goodness (or ethics in general) are somehow connected. And while there are many organized religions which like to claim this (and particularly, of course, for their own specific religion), that claim is never backed up outside that religion.

Many Muslims believe Mohammad's teachings allow them to cheat "infidels", I believe.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

He has used his mind to first identify and then reject atheism as a valid belief. Keep going, you're so close. You're about 2 posts away from realising that atheism is as much faith as any other theism.

If it is a faith,
It is a faith built on reason, not on, err, faith.

In some areas of life it's useful. In matters of thought, lack of doubt is usually a warning sign of a closed, and therefore useless, mind.

You are mixing contexts.
Quote:
o everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time…

Yes,
There is a time for reflection.
But there is also a time to build intellectual constructs. 8)

As stated many times:
I embrace scientific methodology and I am a perpetual sceptic engaging in re-evaluation.
If I find a need for change I will change.
However,
There is no need at present,
Since I am goddamn near perfect, atm.

Your need to debate these things is an invitation. If you don't want your views to be challenged, don't post about them.

It was a rhetorical question.
I was saying:
What is wrong with sticking with what works?
"Whatever floats your boat."

Dude. 8O

BTW, I hope you aren't playing "Devil's Advocate" here.

So what are you saying?
You are or you are not a theist and believe in your faith? :?

You're missing the nub of this conversation and attacking a certain vision of theism in response like a well-trained youtube addict. This is not about Christianity or any other faith. Discard them all from your mind for the time being, keeping science if you wish and ponder the universe.

How did it come to be? Was there a before? Was there a who involved? What is outside of it? Is there a purpose to it all?

The only honest answer a human can give is "I don't know".

Atheism from this position of no knowledge is faith that one or more of the answers to these questions is no.

A common misconception.

Edit I missed that:

Reason can only take you as far as agnosticism.

What is outside of it? Who cares.
Is there a purpose to it all? No. 8)

I am not human.

BTW, The Vulcan answer regarding whether or not there is a purpose to life is: "Logically speaking, probably not". V

Atheism: "disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods." https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... &q=Atheism
Trust me,
I am an Atheist,
And my reasoning ability had everything/k to do with it.

Not caring is one thing, but you do not know the answers to these questions.

Righty-o.

I do not have to trust you, it is obviously untrue if you just think about it for a minute. You do not have the requisite knowledge to apply reason in this instance. You may think you reasoned your way into it - but the human mind often likes to deceive itself in this way. Do not mistake rationalisation for reason.
