Not that I think there is an immediate threat of World War 3 right now, but I speculate that if it does happen someday, fake news or propaganda may play a role in starting it.

That didn't happen in WWI & WWII.
Errr.

I can never tell whether you are being serious or not, but the Nazis famously produced huge amounts of propaganda to first get themselves into power, and then feed the German appetite for war.

I get that, some times.
I will have to get into the habit of using "<irony>".

Sometimes I think it so obvious that I am being ironic, that I don't bother.
But this is an autistic website, after all.
And most people aren't mind-readers, like me.

Hitler blamed Poland for attacking a German Radio station, etc, in/pre WWII.
I.E. A False Flag operation.

Quote:
The Gleiwitz incident (German: Überfall auf den Sender Gleiwitz; Polish: Prowokacja gliwicka) was a covert Nazi German attack on the German radio station Sender Gleiwitz on the night of 31 August 1939 (today Gliwice, Poland). The attack was a false flag operation, staged with some two dozen similar German incidents on the eve of the invasion of Poland leading up to World War II in Europe.[1] The attackers posed as Polish nationals. Adolf Hitler's armed forces invaded Poland the next morning after a lengthy period of preparations. During his declaration of war, Hitler did not mention the Gleiwitz incident but grouped all provocations staged by the SS as an alleged Polish assault on Germany. The Gleiwitz incident is the best-known action of Operation Himmler, a series of special operations undertaken by the Schutzstaffel (SS) to serve Nazi German propaganda at the outbreak of war. The operation was intended to create the appearance of Polish aggression against Germany to justify the invasion of Poland. Evidence for the Gleiwitz attack by the SS was provided by the German SS officer, Alfred Naujocks in 1945.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleiwitz_incident

When the U.S. Used 'Fake News' to Sell Americans on World War I
A committee created by Woodrow Wilson to promote U.S. involvement in World War I changed public opinion, but also led to vigilante violence. https://www.history.com/news/world-war- ... -fake-news

you are aware of course about Radio Free Europe ...
Seems everybody jumps on the fake news broadcasts ,,
Needed now is a actually news source that at least has better appearances of truthfulness.
