Yes.  Eventually, humans may even understand the quantum underpinnings of reality itself.  Until then, humans will keep testing and increasing our understanding.



Lawrence Krauss made the point that humanity/huwomanity has difficultly with quantum physics because it wasn't necessary/useful in the initial stages of "man's" evolution.
Having said that, I doubt the evolutionary process is naturally going to accommodate the understanding, comprehensively, of this life system.

Your assumption seems to be: Humanity has some relevance, in the scheme of things.
Observation suggests to me that personkind is incidental/irrelevant,
Hence no inherent justification for the optimism, imo.
