Sci-fi novel about people missing the rapture
Not really. You have a book and recycled myths, I have science and evidence.
Science wins, every time.
If reality was important to you, you wouldn't be a christian. Comfort and blind faith are more important to you, and it shows.

Nope, the evidence for the general theory of evolution is weak and much of geology is better explained via catastrophism than uniformitarianism. Science is awesome, when it relates to the operation of the material universe, but when it is used as a front for speculative histories, and more particularly as a basis for philosophies based on such conjecture, it's no longer science but might as well be a novel of fiction at that point.
Absolute garbage

Yep, that's precisely what the philosophy of evolutionism is anyway. The general "theory" of evolution is a hypothesis, special theory of evolution is actually qualifying as a scientific theory, and uniformitatarism is a metaphysical research program to which many geologists must adhere similar to how biologists must adhere to evolutionism due to peer pressure and journal gatekeepers even if they think otherwise and the data says otherwise. Such is what is vogue and has been since the mid 1960's.

Like I said, you reject reality and substitute a blind faith...

Actually nope, your faith is based upon indoctrination. I did a fair bit of questioning of my beliefs when I was a teenager, but the evidence of a designer led me to believe there must be a God, and the evidence for the historicity of the Bible led me to believe that the Bible was at least valid with regard to historical matters, and the fulfillment of the messianic prophecies in Jesus Christ led me to believe that Christianity is correct. If it is, then why only part of the Bible, why not the rest if God is truly omnipotent? Why should the fact that there are normal operations of the laws of nature prevent them from being superseded? Because we personally hate abnormalities in our petty little rules? That's no reason. So, if for whatever reason God wanted to do things as it says in the Bible, who are we really to say otherwise? Microscopic dust in a cosmic sea squawking about how we want things to be? But there's plenty of evidence in favor of special creation and catatrophism anyway, so the nonsense argument about calling God a liar is meaningless anyway. I don't reject reality, I just don't blind myself to reality as is required to maintain an atheistic faith.

Matthew 7:6?
Well duh, of course that's the allusive reference. However shrox has the application backwards in regard to the text, but as long as you see atheism as reality you're going to consider shrox' interpretation as proper. You perceive atheism as absolutely true, as I perceive my own views as true. My questioning of everything lasted for years, so such is not an offhand dismissal of your dogmatic opinions about religions such as Christianity in particular.
I guess gravity is also better explained by intelligent falling

Shrox probably meant the common figure of speech "pearls before Sus scrofa domesticus". Posting the Bible reference was just me showing off my mad scripture knowledge
Btw, did it ever occur to you that this verse is very odd in the light of the fact that the Hebrews didn't eat pork, and therefore didn't keep pigs as livestock? The swine herd in Mark 5:13, where Jesus exorcises some poor guy who appears to suffer from Tourette or schizophrenia, is even more puzzling.
But I guess it makes sense when you consider that the gospels were written in Greece, by authors who had never been to Israel and never met Jesus. Like so many authors of works of fiction, they didn't properly do their research.
Absolute garbage

Geology and evolutionary biology are the product of centuries of research and investigation. The pseudoscience you espouse is not backed up by anything... "Its not even wrong"

Yes, but it's not an insult, it doesn't mean "you're a pig". It means if you offer something you consider valuable to someone who just isn't interested, you might as well have given a pig a string of pearls, it's not going to care.
There were many cultures living in that area, some did eat pork. I do like the idea of pigs running around cursing and barking...for a little while, it would get old fast.

I'VE been indoctrinated? I grew up in a christian family, I have not been raised to be Atheist. Now lets look at the christian faith, which baptises babies against their will and frequently forces children in to churches whether they want to go or not. Whose been indoctrinated here?
Evidence of a designer? Lets see it. Lets see your evidence that's so strong it defeats everything scientists have ever discovered. Lets see your proof that Jesus made prophecies that have come true. Chop chop, your in the science world now. You can't just say things and expect them to be believed.
You claim to see reality, bring arguments that mean something in reality. No bible verses, no "you have to have faith" junk, evidence. Concrete evidence, facts.
lets see you beat science all your own, if your so sure.

Now referring back to what I said a few posts ago:
And
Why are you so uptight about a story that doesn't even attempt to pass itself off as reality? Do you also get mad at Pokemon for making no sense? Or Star Trek?
I do not perceive the Bible as fictional, so try to understand it from my perspective rather than asserting your own perspective on this matter. If you perceived something important to be true and others just haphazardly mocked it, how would you feel?
No, I don't get mad a Pokeman. Nor Star Trek, I like Star Trek, except for the last movie and the last few TOS movies. Apart from Enterprise and Voyager, Star Trek has been one of my favorite shows on TV, primarily TNG and DS9 - especially the war with the Dominion in DS9 with the awesome space battles - but no I'm not upset at it for being inaccurate about physics or asserting the quintillions of years timeline, or asserting secular views about religion in general. That's a matter of "don't throw the baby out with the bath water". I've not read the novel/short story/whatever it is that I heard about from a member here a few months ago, but based on the premise that I heard about it sounds as though the author wrote the story without doing his homework.
It does not matter how you perceive the bible. Reality matters. The fact is that even if the christian god exists, the bible was written by men and has been translated many times. It is a fictional story.
People do make a mockery of things that I regard as fact. I don't particularly care.
Yes, reality matters extremely to me as well. What you regard as fact in terms of the origin of everything I consider fantasy and vice versa as you have stated copiously. Having the stance of pretending not to care makes for a strong appearance only, perhaps it's something you truly believe in also, but you'll find it crumbles like a house of cards in L.A. when you're actually faced with real derision.
Why are you getting mad about what you perceive as fiction?
