There was some political chicanery when the 14th Amendment was written and based on that corporations over time have become persons. I would be willing to trade the automatic citizenship just by being born here (also in the 14th), in order to deny personhood to corporations. In both instances history has shown both to be abused.

Person, as a legal term, has a different meaning from person in the colloquial sense. A legal person acts as a single entity, more or less, as far as the law is concerned. The plural form of the legal sense is persons, never people. Nevertheless, I do not think corporate persons should have the same rights as individual human persons. A corporation's rights only come about, in my opinion, from individuals' exercise of their freedom of association.
