I think that if I were thinking of migrating, then Australia or New Zealand would be the most attractive. Good people, good weather. Nowhere near as crowded or crazy.

I'm sure either Australia or New Zealand have plenty bridges for you to consider.

More evidence that Americans are nuts:

No wonder Americans are going postal and shooting each other.

Not all employers (struggling small businesses come to mind) can afford to do that.
Or is that the objective; to bust them out of business?

Where's the news report about someone going postal?
Surely there are several occurrences across this horrible horroble country of mine every few minutes.

Workplace violence has reached epidemic proportions, according to the U.S. Department of Justice, with an average of three or four supervisors killed each month in the United States.

And, I'm sure that each and every one of them got what he deserved.

3 or 4 is a very small number given the number of employers in our oppressive capitalist system and what a horribly violent gun happy people we are.

It's not all milk and honey. At the end of the day, you can probably do better economically in the US (depending on your field). And some parts of Australia / New Zealand are culturally similar to the worst parts of America.

Simple: the United States provides one of the highest standards of living on earth, and is one of only four countries in the world to which self-selected immigration is realistically possible (along with Canada, Australia and New Zealand).

Given the small size of the other three, the United States is the biggest player in the self-selected migration sandbox.

And why do countries want to promote access for their citizens? Because governments know that migration is the pathway to trade.

Another reason...

While there are still laws on the books that make blasphemy illegal, none have been enforceable since 1928 - making it 85 years that people have been able to express their Atheist, Agnostic, and Anti-Religious beliefs without fear of legal reprisal.

People in America can blaspheme against Allah, Buddha, Darwin, Dawkins, Elvis, Jesus, Mohammed, YVWH, Zeus, and Zoroaster and not fear arrest, prosecution, or jail time.

Whatever alleged fate awaits them in the "Afterlife" is purely a matter of conjecture...

That's not exactly an uncommon right in the Western world. It doesn't explain why people would want to move to the US in particular.
