i just hope it doesn't degenerate into irish-style "troubles." but what happened on the 6th is an ominous sign otherwise.

I'm talking about those who can afford high taxes. I'm talking about those who have huge chunks taken out of modest paychecks. The butcher, baker and candlestick maker.

A lot of those folks get zip back. How much they end up having fork out is another matter. Out of their paychecks and then at tax time. Lots of people fall into a bracket where they're not making all that much money, but just enough to get zinged pretty bad when there's a major tax hike. You know, the "backbone of America".
