when i read expired in this story i read expired as in the burger from mcdonalds that gets remmoved if it sits on the heater pad for x amount of minutes, or the waste at the end of the day.
i would still eat it if i were hungry thats for sure.

Years ago, a friend and I had gotten drunk with a guy we knew from school. This guy took us out to where he regularly got dinner each night. It was the dumpster behind McDonald's, which was full of burgers tossed out after hours. As I was drunk out of my skull, I didn't care I was eating food out of the garbage.

we had our insider man as well, we didnt have to grab them form the dumpsters though, he brought them with him from work, sometimes 30-40 burgers, it could feed a band of ravenous nerds thats for sure,(tabletop rpg's  )

This is a pretty common perk in the restaurant industry, no union required. I've never had an employer try and charge me for food that's going to get tossed.

A lot of different types of tinned food that has exceeded its "best before" date is perfectly fine and healthy to eat. Eggs and dairy is a special case, though.

I eat dairy all the time that's expired. When I used to drink cow's milk, I'd drink it up to a week after the expiration date. You know how much hormones are pumped into cow's juice?

Evidently, that's not the case everywhere in the country.

They wouldn't let me have food that was going to get tossed for free when I worked in a bakery.

So they did not "Let them eat cake" as Marie Antoinette supposedly said?

So they just let the food go to waste rather than let someone eat it

Of all the places where the employees should be able to eat the day old food!

What's the point of your comment about military bases, Joker? What does that have to do with the correlation between states with low average incomes and states that (according to you) are anti-union?

They told me they were going to sell it as pig feed. We threw out a lot of (pork) sausage rolls. Yay cannibalism! :eew:

Pretty soon, grocery stores might start selling the expired food at discount price to the people that can't afford fresh food. Then those cafeterias will be SOL

Here is Fatso, being characteristically evil and sarcastic, telling school children to go dumpster-diving for food during the summer.

The kids will be fighting for food with cafeteria workers on summer vacation.

I remember once seeing an article in the paper about a summer program that gave free lunches and activities to poor kids. If I was the parents of the kid they wrote about in the article I would be ashamed. They had a thing about some 5 year old girl in the article that was in the program and made it sound like the poor kid would literally be starving and sitting home alone all summer if not for that program.

I understand poverty and not being able to afford things but I would think one of a parent's first priorities would be feeding their child, even if it's something cheap or even if they have to go to a soup kitchen or food pantry or get food stamps to do it.

Rent often takes a huge portion of one's income. If one loses one's job, then people have to cut back in every possible area. If poor kids are getting free food and summer activities, then great!

I'm guessing that Fatso was inspired by scenes similar to this one, while he was on one of his international sex tours.

I'm sure that he didn't pay very much for sex with the young boys who survived by sifting through garbage.

Fatso is one to talk - he doesn't look like he's missed any meals.
And I can call him that because I'm a fat guy, too!
