You dont agree that he could have ordered the 9/11 attacks surely!?

Its just a possibility thats all. Its a popular Left-Wing conspiracy theory. I watched this documentary by Michael Moore called Fahrenhait 9/11, and it suggests it could be an inside job. It might be a bit of a long shot, but Bush is in league with the Bin Laden family, and gave them an easy escape from America after the attacks took place. After all, the Bin Ladens have donated over $14 Billion to Bush's business enterprises over the years.

The motive? So they can both make money out of the situation.

More importantly, what does Mr President think of us and this thread?

It is probable that some US senetors have blood and their hands, maybe even Bush's cabinate but I don't think George did this himself.

I think Bush should resign NOW, TODAY.

A second hurricane is slamming into the Gulf Coast of America as we speak, and what is Bush doing? He's cutting taxes.

Bush should resign on three counts relating to hurricane Katrina and any other natural disasters in the future:

1) Long Term. Bush's failure to accept Global Warming and cut CO2 emissions has put his own citizens (and the rest of the world) in grave danger from events such as Katrina and Rita. A leading UK scientist has said today that global warming is responsible for the intensity of both hurricanes.

2) Medium Term. Bush's cuts in Social security and public spending (inc. levee repairs) have made the natural disasters worse when they occur, since there is little government support to evacuate poor citizens, etc.., house people during the storm, and clean up and return people to their homes afterwords.

3) Short Term. Bush's response to Katrina was abysmal. Not only did he not have the resources to fight Katrina, he lacked the Will as well, indicating that to him, poor people did not matter. The recent war in Iraq played a part in this as well, draining the area of vital troops needed for the clean up operation.

quite frankly, sometimes i wonder if people who agree with what you've said are just pissing into the wind, robert.

no-one will give a toss about what you said, as long as their taxes are cut, and their petrol is cheap. i am utterly appalled at the posts on this board which bemoan the fact that the effects of katrina will increase petrol prices. GOOD - using so much bloody petrol is most probably what caused katrina in the first place.

Wake up, people!

Yes its interesting that, Vivi. My Mum for instance agrees with everything I say about global warming, but guzzles petrol like there is no tomorrow, and refuses my suggestions that we stick a load of solar panels on the roof!! !

She says she is waiting for the government to do something because ordinary people can't afford renewable energy, but I think we'll be waiting for ever, because BLIAR wants to keep his oil buddies happy and will not subsidise wind farms.

I'm confused by the "defense" being put out by the lobby that claims there is no global warming. Channel 4 news had a lobbyist and Bush advisor on saying that the hurricanes are not related to climate chabge, they are part of a cycle which is on the upswing of the cycle at the moment, nothing unusual. If thats the case is the Gov't and the oil industry guilty of complacency, incompetence or a desire not to stretch an already mammoth budget deficit? If these storms are normal and to be expected as they claim, then why did no one prepare?

Here is one of the latest Bushisms:

We'll get the debris removed, get the water up and running and get the bridges rebuilt. But what you need to do is develop a blueprint for your own future. We look forward to hearing your vision so we can more better do our job.

-- George W. Bush, Gulfport, Mississippi, 20 September 2005

What I've heard is that it's a 15 or 16 year cycle. Right now strangely the Pacific is as calm as can be and Japan hasn't been hit by much in the way of typhoons. If that model is correct, we'll be do for another calm season pretty soon while the east coast of Asia will be getting hammered by Pacific storms again. Should be interesting to see what happens.

As for no one preparing, pff, I think myopia sums that one up pretty well.
