Except I learned in my college psychology course, that they fail to really look into how many of these people with schizophrenia or psychosis issues started developing symptoms prior to the cannabis use and where attempting to self medicate. So basically there is no substantial proof that cannabis in itself increases the risk for psychosis or schizophrenia.
Though some speculation that people with genetic predisposition for that sort of thing are more at risk if using cannabis....then again there is also research suggesting cannabis strains high in CBD could act as an anti-psychotic and probably a hell of a lot safer than the pharmaceuticals...But high THC strains might have the chance of setting off symptoms though a little THC with the CBD would provide some mood lift but with more calming/relaxing sort of effects.
I have an aunt who not sure if she has schizophrenia but she does experience psychosis like symptoms and hears voices, and she says she smokes cannabis to shut them up....and from what I have seen she functions much better with the cannabis than without. But yeah she said the alternative would be taking 3 to 4 pills with undesirable side effects that would interfere with her ability to function...so perhaps there is something to that.

^I don't think it had opium in it.I believe the word hash is interchangeable with hashish. The old stuff was stronger, way stronger and smelled better. If you took too big a hit, talk about lung blowing expansion.
You smoked it by getting a straight pin and poking it thru a really stiff piece of paper, like the back of a spiral notebook. Then you put a ball of the hash on it and lit it,once it stated burning you blew it out and put a glass over it,when the glass was filled you would crack the edge up a little and suck the smoke out.The new stuff just melts off the pin.
It used to be easy to find, not anymore.I blame the war on terrorism.

When the product melts you can usually be assured it's fresh and unadulterated. The more misc. plant material is present the less "melt" that will occur.
Old style hash was pressed into lumps or bars. The dried, outside portion "rind" becomes very hard. In addition the THC levels fall very low in the "rind" compared to the hash inside. Often you'll be presented with a piece of hash that has been exposed to the air for days/weeks/months. This is low quality hash.
Maybe I am just being nostalgic, but the taste and the smell of the old skool stuff just seemed more fragrant.
I observed some people doing "knife hits" with bubble hash, this seemed a bad way to smoke the product. No way am I breathing hot metal vapors.Guess I'm a hypocrite becuse I'm smoking a cigarette right now
DARN! If they'd had those in '83 I might still be able to be smoking today:-)
Added: I think the change in taste and smell changes may be either due to the removal of extraneous material or a process similar to what occurred to the fragrance of the rose (and other cut flowers) for various esthetic and economic reasons, sometimes labeled "progress."

This is why I prefer BHO/wax, it's not hard at all to find or make for me and it tastes great.
