Then you should definitely take the time to watch this video. It's very thought-provoking and offers suggestions on how to change things.

Thanks for posting this. It appears these Zeitgeist films have been getting a negative reaction and are criticised as being factually inaccurate propaganda... whether that's true or not, I don't know, but I don't care either as long as it has the right message and I believe this one does. I could only get through half of it though because it was not interesting enough to sustain my attention for the full length.

The world is likely far kinder and far more hospitable than it has ever been. The only thing that's hard perhaps is the number of people suffering rather than percentages simply by the amount of people who happen to be alive at the moment.

The original quote from Casablanca was the set-up for a joke poking fun at Capt. Renault's hypocrisy (feigning outrage at illegal gambling while participating in it himself). So... are you implying that you're directly responsible for some of that unjust behaviour yourself? :P

Well, also - if we're to look at the front photo of this video - starving people in African nations - we have to think of all the food and aid that is sent in and then abducted by warlords. Its not that no one wants to help these people, its that those who try get thwarted, and then the UN sits on things like this, as well as the many liberals around the world who feel that other nations have no right to go in and rearrange their political ownership or government structure. Some people like Hilary Clinton have even stated that freedom is a cultural thing - that's truly wonderful logic . Perhaps genocide and many other things of the same ilk fall under the same cultural provisions, the UN's usual behavior would certainly lead one to believe so.

Having watched Zeitgeist in the past though, not remembering the particular parts though, I just remember that they had a lot of harmful effects but - like some of Michael Moore's better known material, had cause, effect, and current state of national and party motivations completely scrabbled.

Repeatedly and incessantly you have proclaimed your callous attitude for anyone not of your own family or cultural tradition. That there are many like you is not denied but that all humanity resembles you absolutely is a wild delusion.

Oh, no, not more Zeitgeist propaganda.

When they can get just half their facts straight, then I'll start to take them seriously.

All my life I have been asked to give money to the starving Africans.

But now there are TWICE as many Africans as there were 20 years ago and they are STILL starving and expecting us to feed them for free.

"The world is overpopulated!! !"
Well, no it isn't. The birthrate in all the first world countries including Russia and Japan is falling like a stone.

The birth rate in all advanced countries is below replacement level.

Hey! Here's an idea. Why don't we bring millions of people from Somalia and Bangla Desh to come and live in our countries?

It doesn't matter if they don't speak English (or German) It doesn't matter if they have never worn shoes or seen a flush toilet.
We "need" them for some reason.

Within a century they will have out-bred us and we will be a minority in our own ancestral homelands.

But don't complain or you are a "racist".

No worries, even Africa's birthrate is predicted to fall - seems to happen in direct proportion to education and shifts in culture. Perhaps its another reason why we should be looking at aiding democratic movements in all third world countries - better government means better economy, better education, and with that combo lower birth rate.

^GIBS ME DAT

Ethiopians(I'd use the N word, but that's considered racist) beg for food, yet Saudis bought millions of acres of arable land.

Saudi Arabia joins in the Ethiopian land grab

"Saudi Arabia, which is making efforts to provide food security for its nationals, can look up to Ethiopia where huge tracts of unutilized agricultural land are available for growing cereals, according to Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi."

Seriously didn't nations conquer and advance each other in the past? Why is it taking so long for someone to catch Africa up? I notice that there are more projects focusing on agriculture and self sufficiency but they pale in comparison to the food aid which is just ridiculous reverse the ratios and we would likely have Africa standing on its own in 10-15 years(optimistic).

I agree that the other Zeitgeist movies weren't very good, and this one has its problems as well. It is also a lot better than the others and focuses more on the practical side of things, monetary system, suggests a way to restructure.

Capitalism is getting kind of old methinks, resource-based economy could be the next step. If we continue as we are now, the environment will continue to suffer, how much more do you think it can take? I'd rather not find out.

All you people who say "this is the way things are, this is the way people are, you can't change it, don't even try", you just piss me off. We used to be hunter-gatherers and nomads, and social environment plays a significant role in shaping a person.

We can stay stagnant with "reform" but eventually the current system will become outdated just like all the others before it, if it hasn't already. Inaccurate facts or not, it's the only way I see humans surviving on Earth indefinitely if we aren't somehow wiped out by natural disaster and/or nukes. The current system is just too wasteful. I you have a suggestion for how things could be, I'd be very happy to hear it. The Zeitgeist movement has it's flaws and gaps, but it also has some great ideas.

Watched this yesterday actually. Thought it was extremely thought provoking indeed. Already seen the other films and watched lots of jacque fresco and peter joseph interviews / talks.

did you see the animation for the venus project bit? (where they showed the ideal city design) i have the guy who made that on facebook. he really helps to promote the movement.

i love the movement as an ideal end solution to structure our society, but the issue i have with the zeitgeist films is "how do we approach change initially, so that it works for the better?" I promote the ideas but most people seem to have their heads berried in the sand when it comes to thinking about stuff outside their stressful and materialistic styles of life.

What do you think is the best way of making people wake up to how messed up our current society is?

For once i agree with you. As long as humans are running the show, there will be injustice--due to our own innate self-centeredness.
