Can I ask a straight forward question. Who is more likely to abort her child: A pregnant Negress or a pregnant Caucasianess? My guess is that the latter is more likely to abort than the former.

I have to picture it to give you an answer. A prenant negress and a pregnant Caucasianess walks by the billboard that says the womb is the most dangerous place for an African American. Which one of these two humans is more likely to abort her child.

Hmm your guess is as good as mine.

Can't be determined on an individual basis. Either one could be on their way to an abortion clinic.

Abortion statistics for the African American Race as a whole have been fairly consistent since abortion became legal in 1973.

I'm one of the very few WP members who are Pro-Life and I'm not afraid to say so. Hahing said that, I think that there's a better way to get the message across.

Aside:

Why is it that America seems to be the ONLY country in the world that makes such a huge deal of the abortion issue?
Where else do they shoot doctors who perform abortions?

I'm not saying that I am pro or anti.
I am only pointing out that only in America is it such a huge and emotive issue.

Well an Abortionist is possibly going to be facing the Death Penalty.

Philadelphia (AP) - Prosecutors have notified a Philadelphia doctor charged with killing a patient and seven babies at his abortion clinic that they intend to pursue the death penalty against him.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 70, ran a filthy West Philadelphia medical practice that served as a pill mill by day and an abortion mill by night, a grand jury concluded in January after a two-year investigation.

The multiple deaths and tender age of the babies allegedly killed with scissors after being born alive are the aggravating circumstances that warrant the death penalty for Gosnell, Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore said Wednesday.

I imagine some pro-abortion people (Including Obama) have no problem with born alive infants being stabbed with scissors, but I should hope most people here would be disgusted.

Um, Inuyasha, that's total BS and you know it. I'm pro-choice and I have a huge problem with that.

And if you're going to try and say this is what all pro-choice advocates are suggesting, then I'm sorry, your argument is invalid because most abortions are no different then euthanasia in the fact that they are meant to be humane, when done properly. Stabbing live babies that have been born is just sick, and I seriously doubt that ANYONE would disagree that this man needs to be locked up or killed. (And BTW stop trying to demonize Obama, I recognize that you're hopelessly conservative but that's no excuse to post obvious lies.)

I've noticed that a lot of people here get very heated and emotional when it comes to talking about abortion. But if you rid yourself of all of the theological and emotional aspects of the arguments, it comes down to this. I am pro-choice because it's not my place, nor is it the government's place, to tell a woman what to do with something that is technically still a part of her body. And if you read my previous statement earlier concerning the fetus and it's connection to the mother's body during the gestational period, then I think you would be singing a different tune.

I'm pro-choice not because I necessarily like the idea of abortion, especially when used just as a means of rectifying an 'accident', but I respect that up until about the halfway point in the pregnancy when the fetus is more likely to survive outside of the womb, it is totally up to the woman as to what resides within her body.

Also, concerning Wombat's post about America being the only country to make such a big deal out of it: I'm pretty sure because most of America has lost the capability of rational thought. It's sad, but it seems to be the growing trend.

Uh actually I was waiting for someone to post what you just said cause actually I can prove what I'm saying.

Also for the record I said some pro-abortionists not all.

I'm not going to bother commenting on the rest of your post, because I can pretty much destroy your entire post just commenting on the first paragraph.

I think there is a biological undercurrent between the sexes that may underlie the battle going on for the degree of Patriarchy in our Society. Since the advent of Birth Control and the entrance of 70% of women into the workforce, we no longer have the Patriarchal society we once had. A woman's control over her reproduction is antithetical to patriarchal values that are steeped in fundamental Christianity.

Reproductive control and the entrance into the workforce allows a women to be more selective in her reproductive choices. She no longer needs a male to take care of all of her needs. Social programs are also a move toward egalitarianism and away from Patriarchy. Greater cooperation and equality among the sexes means a move away from Patriarchy.

Abortion is an integral part of human adaptation to a very complex environment. Whatever cultural devices, judged good or bad, that result in survival are more likely to remain. It is also more likely that the patriarchal element in our culture will use a more forceful method to try to establish dominance over the element seeking cooperation and a more egalitarian way of life. Adaptation is a slow process with no collective mind.

The US has one of the most heterogenous, complex cultures in the world. There are many unusual human actions we see that reflect the difficulty of adaptation to the level of complexity evident in our culture. Chances are there are many more to come.

Please use language in a straight forward manner. You are not as much pro-life as anti-abortion. In a medical situation where the fetus must be destroyed to save the life of the mother, who life are you for? the mother or the fetus?

Perhaps you should use the term "pro-fetus"?

This was not an abortion clinic. This was a house of horrors. It's like making an argument against euthanizing dogs because some deranged a**holes beat a puppy to death with a baseball bat. It's a false equivalence.

Death and poverty topic

This "house of horrors" is an explanation of why in Canada abortion clinics are regulated. In the US any Doctor Nutjob can set up shop and cause unnecessary suffering to those who should have been medically treated as soon as the pregnancy test was postive.

Perhaps more education about how to avoid pregnancy and STDs should be available in order to avoid this kind of medical horror show.

Inuyasha likes to cite horror stories. Personally I think it is sometimes a good & necessary contrast to provide, but I do not dismiss an entire topic because of one internet horror story and neither should anyone else

Pennsylvania clinics, including his, were being regulated and inspected until '93 or so, when it was decided by the state that inspections presented an impediment to women's rights. In the absence of inspections, or even investigations into the women from his clinic who were turning up in hospitals. Gosnell had a field day. The grand jury report is mind-numbing.

This isn't an isolated incident, that law Obama was opposed to in Illinois was due to another incident where a born alive infant was left to die.

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/02/06/p ... e-happens/

Of course some of the links no longer work...

The tiny newborn baby made very little noise as he struggled to breathe. He lacked the strength to cry. He had been born four months premature.

“At that age,” says nurse Jill Stanek, “their lungs haven’t matured.”

Stanek is the nurse who found herself cradling this baby in her hands for all of his 45-minute lifetime. He was close to ten inches long and weighed perhaps half a pound. It’s just a guess — no one had weighed or measured him at birth. No happy family had been there to welcome him into the world. No one was trying to save his life now, putting him into an incubator, giving him oxygen or nourishment. He had just been left to die.

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/ ... d-freddoso

Reason they were getting away with it:
Hospital officials dismissed Stanek’s concerns. She then approached the Republican attorney general of Illinois, Jim Ryan, who issued a finding several months later that Christ Hospital was doing nothing illegal under the laws of Illinois. Doctors had no ethical or legal obligation to treat these premature babies. They had passed the bright line of birth that had effectively limited the right to life since the Roe v. Wade decision, but under the law they were non-persons.
http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/ ... d-freddoso

Actually I think this seems to be standard operating procedure for abortionists.

To tie Obama into this:

On March 30, 2001, Obama was the only senator to speak in opposition to a bill that would have banned the practice of leaving premature abortion survivors to die. The bill, SB 1095, was carefully limited, its language unambiguous. It applied only to premature babies, already born alive. It stated simply that under Illinois law, “the words ‘person,’ ‘human being,’ ‘child,’ and ‘individual’ include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development.”

Two related bills introduced that day included slightly more controversial provisions about liability and medical procedure, but SB 1095 did not go nearly that far. This bill did not apply to those not born, nor did it grant born persons anything beyond recognition of their rights as persons.

Under this bill, SB 1095, babies born alive during an abortion would have to be treated just like every other baby that is born alive and prematurely — not left to die as at Christ Hospital, but given treatment according to an acting physician’s medical judgment as to what is necessary and what is possible — the same standard that applies to any other human being.

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/ ... d-freddoso
