One can have a low IQ without being severely autistic.

One can have severe intellectual disability and mild autism.

And one can have severe autism and mild intellectual disability.

It's also possible that his IQ score isn't accurate? Accuracy presupposes that he did the test properly.

Of course, that’s possible.

The low IQ excuse is ridiculous since there are several counties where the average IQ of their citizens is less than 65.

So the majority of their citizens have a cognitive and borderline impairment? How do they even survive, no wonder they are a poor country?

This research is highly questionable.

IQ as a measure of intelligence rather than of education and culture is highly questionable. It is a number that may or may not reflect cognitive ability.

Not at all.  Unless a vast conspiracy to blame the murder on an innocent person is proven, we'll just have to go along with the jury's verdict.  Be thankful the murderer did not get the death sentence.

There was research that took place several decades ago that stated that there is significant Cultural and racial bias in those tests.

my son has had abusive TA's who didn't even have the shame to stop treating him like scum in FRONT of me- have posted about them here in the past--
becase there was a particular environment and they could and did get away with anything- despite complaints not from me but care coordinator and nurse (care coordinator would pay surprise visits) -
leading me and his babysitter to speculate how they must behave when we AREN'T around
what did the school do? after meetings were scheduled (not by me but care coordinator)? forbid surprise visits.
their narrative.. no idea.. am sure was wrought with slander. .

and one abusive (VERY esp when she thought i wasnt home) ABA therapist who thankfully (after weeks and weeks of me saying so) got fired when another therapist and babysitter FINALLY backed me up on it.
i really do not wish my son to be exposed to such people.
and yet they exist.
sometimes wonder if one's own death is the only way away from bullies.. it's just that when someone YOU LOVE who cannot speak up for themselves etc is being bullied.. well, i'd rather drop dead on the spot.

That poor innocent woman, who was just doing her job as a teaching assistant...even if she had tormented him in some way, that is NO EXCUSE for what he did

According to the teen
He said a stranger he came across while walking promised him money if he disposed of the body, while his defence told jurors the DNA and scientific evidence suggested she could have been killed by someone she knew, instead of a stranger.

His IQ is linked specifically to his learning disability and ADHD which means he probably struggles to complete a WAIS-IV, it doesn't mean he is not capable of complex thought. He could have planned the act and acted on his urges.

But is this an open and shut case? he was caught on film rolling the wheelie bin but is there hard evidence he committed the murder?
