Some of them died from being trample by people trying to get out and there was only ONE exit!

That club can hold up to 3,000 people

Given the fact that they were mostly students

There have been a few deadly nightclub fires over the past decade or so. There were hundreds of deaths in each case. It's time we were a lot more cautious about the use of electronic equipment and fireworks.

It did bring back memories of the fire caught on a news camera at a Rhode Island nightclub back in February, 2003

And this is what the camera man said

What happened in Rhode Island was more horrific as far as I'm concerned and the videos out there are enough to give one post traumatic stress. The reason is that in Brazil, the deaths were overwhelmingly caused by smoke, reports say. In Rhode Island, people died in the flames themselves. There's footage of people jammed in the entrance who never escape and later an inferno rages out of that entrance, the people inside were described in reports at the time as being stacked like wood and the heat then causing them to burst in flames and in those videos you can hear the people as they die.

That said more died in Brazil, twice as many. In both cases I blame the venue not the band.

I get the feeling that the people who operated the death trap will get away with it, just as happened in Rhode Island.
