The world is now sprinting ahead of us in cases

I check the weekly coronovirus stats each morning. Have since mid March at least.

For weeks and weeks -though the actual numbers of both kept on rising- the ratio stayed constant-between the number of world cases, and the number of U.S. Cases. The same three/one ratio held for weeks for how many world cases and how many the US has by its self. Our one country had the dubious distinction of having a third of the world's cases despite only having about four percent of the world's population.

But now...the rest of the planet seems to be suddenly accelerating ahead of the US. The US now has about 2.1 million cases. But the planet now has 7.5 million (should be only six million if the trend had stayed the same). I WISH I could report that the reason for that is that the US is slowing down with new cases, but that doesnt seem to be the case. We get about the same number of new cases, and new deaths, each day that weve always had. Its that the rest of the world that is suddenly getting more cases (as if they all wanna catch up to us). This is probably mainly due to one country: the virus is going wild in Brazil. Brazil has just overtaken Britain as nation number two in cases. But other countries are starting to get infected like Egypt (just like its now spreading and peaking in new states and regions within the US).

Poorer countries laged behind in cases in the beginning because of less travel but once the virus had the time to take hold,poorer health care and overcrowded conditions are now leading to more cases and more deaths.
