Drug abuse never occurred to me, I just discovered this via my weekly 20th century e-mail news letter.

Sieg-highing across Europe. No surprise, really, but just one of those things that makes one wonder. Being doped on speed can make nastiness even worse.

I'm sorry but I instantly thought of this film involving zombie nazi soldiers called "outpost". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0892899/ predictable story but really scary at times reminded me of this thread! Nazi soldiers on crystal meth is a frightening thought! This will haunt my dreams tonight :S

Thanks for the link, Ashuahhe.

When I first heard about this movie, I thought it was of a fictional horror/historical genre, like Scream or Saw, or even Inglorious Basterds. Odd, because this is one of my special interests, European history. Perhaps given the fact that the nazis were already brutalized murdererous barbarians that the idea of drugs was probably not well expanded in historical research and writing, at least as far as I knew.

This is why I subscribe to the 20th Century History site, to check on recent research/news/books published, as I have never been in an academic setting that would probably keep me up to date on a more frequent basis.

Meth was created by the Japanese for that purpose to push their workers beyond human endurance...I watched a whole docrimentry (sp)on it. Then it was released into the US and really took over like wildfire and then after the US clamped down on the ingredients to make meth like cough medicine and lye...etc then the mexicans started brewing crystal meth on a large scale and smuggling it in the US. However it seems that meth is not just a US problem, but it is really taking hold in other counrtries as well. It seems to be the pandora's box of illegal drugs.

Contrary to popular belief, the Nazis never thought the British or Anglo Americans were lesser beings. On the contrary, they saw Anglo-Saxons as their Germanic kin - which they are. It was the Slavs, such as the Poles and Russians who Hitler thought were Untermenschen, even though Slavs actually have a higher degree of the R1a genetic marker, believed to be the DNA marker of the first Indo-Europeans - much more in fact than most Germanic peoples such as the Germans, English, Dutch, Flemish, and Scandinavians.
But back to my original point - Hitler was in fact an Anglophile, often purposely emulating British military and even social institutions (short of free government). He believed if he declared war on the Soviet Union, the English would stop fighting him, and join their "Aryan Brothers" against the untermenschen Slavs. Later, after the failed Stauffenberg bomb plot, with the realization of how deep Anti-Nazism extended withing the ranks of the German army, he complained that perhaps fate should have placed him in England, instead, as he thought the English didn't breed traitors.

Some of the soldiers that fought against the Reich were Jews and Negroes. These are definitely untermenschen by Nazi reckoning. If the Germans had lasted another six months we would have dropped the A-Bomb on the Nazis. Making nuclear weapons is a Jewish cottage industry, or at least it was back in the 1940s.
