I have 36 members on my PM "auto-delete" list.  None are moderators, of course.  Some of them go back for years.

It would probably be the List of Same for some members

One thing to keep in mind is that this is an autism site & us autistics are known for having horrible social skills. We can s#ck at reading people, others can often misread us, & we also tend to be literal. For example there's been LOTS of arguments in L&D during my time here due to the fact that posters did not specify that they were not talking about all women or all men. If a poster does not specifically say that they are only talking about some & do not men all, others get upset because they are not like that & do not want to be lumped in with everyone else. Due to autism literal thinking, we need to specificlly say that exceptios can & do exist. I started trying to get in the habit of posting disclaimers that say that.

Exactly, Nick. We are by definition poor at social communication. I believe we should always give the other communicator the benefit of the doubt until clearly made otherwise. Of course, we would disagree on that too. :D Sylkat makes a good point, ask, how did you mean that?

Thank you for creating Wrong Planet in the first place.

Method for blocking PM's is detailed here:

I'm just wondering if she means blocking users on actual threads rather than PMs? my guess is she doesn't want to see posts from certain users

Wow!

I think that that is an EXCELLENT first step!
When we get an an antagonistic or hurtful response to a post, if we ask ‘Are you serious?’ Or ‘How did you mean that?’, and get a clarification.
If someone is indeed criticizing, ridiculing, or indeed trying to start something, then there is a clearly written statement that can be answered, disagreed with, or shown to the mods.
There is also a clear statement if someone was joking or being witty or facetious.

Very rational.
You must leave this website.

possibly hard to get to actually know someone if all you have is what they care to share in a thread.
but maybe an idea .

I agree actually.

I end up avoiding whole threads in order to avoid people.

And building a 'foe' list. But I wonder - can they see that they're on there?

No, 'foe' list is not public. Neither is the 'friend' list for that matter. Only you can see your added friends and foes.

Aw but I wanted Kortie to know that we're friends :(

It should let people know when they're mutuals.

Friends ONLY! Otherwise there would be even more fights! 8O

So if the goal of keeping a 'Foes' list is to display who is on it, then why not just post it somewhere and be done with it?

I think it should work as a private block but it doesn't or if it does it only blocks DMs. So only works for creeps not for people whose posts upset you.

I've never had a creep on here btw but I doubt anyone is DMing hate messages. They would get in a lot of bother over that.

I am confused; what happens when someone is added to the "friend" or "foe" list? I've been tempted to add some friends, but I don't know what the feature does.
