I've been in therapy for about 2-2 1/2 yrs now, and Im told to just live my live like nothing is wrong but I can't do that now before I snap and go crazy, I'm going to try to shut out the real world, how do I do this and what are the results

Your signature seems to describe how to do it...shut the world out through imagination.

I've shut off from the outside world since realising that I'm Aspie a little over a month ago... need the space. I stay at home and speak to my partner at times, and also to our animals ( we have a small farm), and paint when I have enough energy and communicate to people who understand through WP.

I do speak to one or two friends by phone once or twice a week.... we moved about 300 kms from where they live.

You can read books, watch movies etc.....but have you tried to physically invent your own world by writing, playing a musical instrument, drawing, painting, inventing stuff or any creative activity?! !! !

First I don't think it's a good idea to do this completely.

But I live in fiction and imagination when I want to shut out the real world. I sometimes go as far as to lie to myself. If I can half-believe it, sometimes I can sleep that night.
