How do you deal with everyday life?
I wanted to try to convince my cousin about my Asperger, I wanted her to understand me & stop thinking she knows what she talking about. I emailed her hoping to make her understand, but you can't make people understand. I'm soooo tired of her judging me & making up her mind about me. In her email, she said before I found out about my Asperger, I never talked about it this much before, that didn't make sense. How can I talk about it if I didn't know I had Asperger. My online friend, she knows about Aspergers, she gave me a link that prove Aspergers does get worse with age. I wish at least one person would be on my side in my CRAZY family! So I wouldn't feel soooo alone & scared. I use to be a strong person, I'm not strong enough anymore, sometimes I am, but lately I been more emotional & crying. My cousin is right about one thing, I need to see a doctor. How can I go out if life can be so scary now? It's not just me, people can be very bad, abusing animals, more heartbreaking news I been reading, drivers in my town want to run you over & not caring when you walk. How do you deal with everyday life?
I feel also often devestated, because people I care about (or used to care about more) dont react enough to the fact that I have lost the custody of my child to my psychopathic ex in a very obviously crazy process. It is as if they just dismissed it as irrelevant or keep being puzzled instead of trusting me or asking for more evidence(it is all in the files). But after all: there are some people who do understand. I think it is best to refer more to them. I agree that it would be good to have someone you could meet more regularly, but sometimes this is not possible.
Then, even if your cousin doesnt get it now, she might still get it (or at least part of it) later, even much later, or at least react differently when confronted with a similar claim from somenone else.
It helps me to show people my consternation about not reacting like they should react, and to confront them with my expectation about how I expected them to react or how I would want people ideally to react to it. It is always emotionally draining at the moment, but overall beneficial.
Why do you care so much about your cousin s opinion? Is she the closest to you in your family? (And if so, why?)
