Hating a thing about people who recovered from Depression
I hate how-- when recovered depressives talk about their depression, they act like they've 'seen the light.' They always act just too happy and outgoing. It bothers me that I haven't been able to achieve this, especially since nothing I've done can replicate that feeling.
It makes me frustrated that they give advice that doesn't work, or that I REALLY don't want to do. Say, "Go to your therapist" or "do this meditation". It also feels like they're talking about it like it's a practical myth or something... ugh. And like, people with depression talk more and are more willing to do work and blah blah blah.
I know that some of you will disagree and that's fine. Go ahead and disagree, but that doesn't change my outlook on how people are just so damn happy and magically "Oh yeah, I'm all better now."

There's three ways to stop me from doing what I do...
What? You think I'mma tell you?
I'm not female, even though this account says I am. I messed up during account creation. Which is-- yeah, all I do. Always messing something up.
I was severely depressed from the age of 11 to the age of 15. I am no longer depressed. Anxiety was a huge part of "recovering" for me. My depression slowly morphed into anxiety, which in retrospect helped me quite a lot since anxiety for me was more manageable.
For me it is easier now, but i rarely talk about my depression, at least in person. I didnt talk about when i was depressed, dont talk about it now either.
For me, depression isn't something that I just "fixed". I have gone to therapy, but ultimately it didnt help me. What helped me was a buttload of anxiety, but mostly time. I was on antidepressants, which were an important part of managing my anxiety. I also have very good self-discipline which helped/forced me to do what i had to do, on time (anxiety also helped, but did also disturb this pattern).
I do occasionally still feel depressed, but i am no longer depressed.

Hmm..
When I recovered from depression, it was not happiness or relief that I felt. First thing I felt since those 'colors' is curiosity. Then this clarity, and confusion since I never felt that before.
Yes, I got a bit overwhelmed and had some sort of fog off my mind, but I didn't end up being happy-go-lucky, not even for a spur of a moment
but I end up poking things, and eventually got really bored, one will mistake me for an optimist or some sort...
Granted, I'm recovered from it (along with anxiety) by secluding for 2 years (therefore I was a bit 'sheltered' back then) and purely enduring it from the inside.
So I wasn't bombarded by therapy (expensive), meds (again, expensive), techniques like meditation (it's hard. My allergy rhinitis WILL keep breaking my focus. Everyday, any time.
and I don't want it) and peep talkers -- whether they themselves recovered from depression or not (if so, I would've lashed out on them -- for the same reason as you do).
I'm happy and content in a way, but I don't *spread* happiness, nor tell everyone be happy nor lighten up.
For the same reason as you do.
I don't suggest others as to how or why am'I happy. Nor claim that I have a solution for the depressed and the anxious.
So in some sense, I agree with your view.
Though, I don't hate them, because I see it as funny than encouraging or inspiring or some uhh
'appropriate' reaction towards someone who just got recovered from depression.
