This forum is much easier on the eyes when I use the "Dark Reader" browser plugin (for LibreWolf, the browser I use):

You can do dark mode with Chrome too. Type in the url chrome://flags. Then in the box that says search flags, type in "dark". Then change the dark setting from default to enable.

Until about 10 minutes ago I thought a Blue Riband was called a Blue Ribbon

I can't remember ever having one before but it was surprisingly nice

This is good to know. When I was having vision issues, this type of information was important to me.

I'm allergic to society.

Unless you fall into them. :nerdy:

I tend to ramble on about things. It takes my mind off the sting of any disappointments. When I'm tired of pity parties, I start to ramble in my posts.

A woman in Australia murdered her in-laws by serving them individual beef wellingtons made with death cap mushrooms.

From the looks of the news article, she's also not the brightest crayon in the box and a really bad liar.

The toothbridge that I can only afford only lasts for about 5 years.

Including the attempted extended time of self repairs.and bearing with it.

Although they look very similar to each other, the North American beaver has 40 chromosomes while the Eurasian beaver has 48. Because of this they are not genetically compatible with each other. Russia has attempted at least 27 times to cross-breed North American and Eurasian beavers, but only succeeded in producing one kit, which was stillborn. I'm not sure why Russia was trying to create a new hybrid beaver, but maybe it was because the Eurasian beaver was once on the brink of extinction and they were trying to save it this way.

Or maybe it was for a much darker, cold war-related reason...

Tubi TV has a bunch (over a hundred?) Rifftrax features.
Exciting! Now I have . . . . . five ways to watch Rifftrax.

According a meme I saw on Reddit, people in Alberta are calling measles "freedom freckles".

Let's see how "free" their kids will be when their brains are swelling up or they're drowning in their own mucus.

I fell asleep and was woken up by what sounded like an empty plastic milk jug being crushed. I wondered what on earth could make such a noise in my room?

Then I remembered that can of soda I put in the freezer to get cold fast an hour before. The bottom part had gone from being concave to convex. Fortunately it didn't explode.

Lesson learned: Set a timer on my phone to remind me to take a can of soda out of the freezer.

I was looking at Mon Calimari figures this morning.
I saw one that looked novel and still familiar.
Star Wars Return Of the Jedi the Vintage Collection Rebel Pilot (Mon Calamari) Figure
It was expensive. $69.99
I visited the page. Maybe I will part with my pension/social security money for it? (TEMPTATION)
There at the top of the page -
Last purchased Apr 16, 2016
Oh. I paid $32.99. NoW that was a savvy purchase.
That is what I was thinking I typed it.
My brain-finger connection was having a laugh because I actually typed "Not that was a savvy purchase." Mmm.

When I corrected it, the caps lock was on. I decided to leave it.

What did I learn? I was tempted to buy something I'd bought nine years ago, and tempted pay twice as much.
I didn't though.
