Why are many parties alcohol dominated?

Alcohol use is the only way NTs can stand each others company. I still think its weird you get drunk pass out then your friends draw on your face or worse. If you are a women and pass out odds are you wake up pregnate and never knowing who the father is or worst wake up with some type of disease. Drink too much at one time you get poisoned drink too much over a long period you become an addict. What is the attraction.

When I worked at the resteraunt a kid (16) who worked there with us had off that night called us at work right when we were closing up to tell us there was a girl (15) there passed out and if we hurried over to his house we all could get a chance with her. When the night boss heard this he called the police and told them what happen and then the boss also called that kid's parents at work to let them know what was happening. The kid's parents gave permission for the cops to enter the house so they could get the girl. No one knows if the idiot did anything to her she and her parents refused a rape test when they were at the hospital. The cops and the emergancy room people said she had just about died from alcohol poisoning. Can you believe that kid asked the day manager to write up the night manager for calling the police on him. The owner did not like having that kid around so he did not last long.

Stick to people who smoke weed. I never saw someone high on weed beat someone up for no reason. The worst thing a pothead ever did to me was fall asleep on me on a car ride to get a pizza. I have had drunks vomit on me, punch me, push me, and pull my hair who were my friends for over five years.

Worst thing I've personally encountered on account of weed was a motorcycle wreck where one of my friends at the time lost the ability to feel her calf and foot. Could have been worse, could have been avoided.

I'm happy to say I've never been puked on or anything negative as a direct result of alcohol. I have been forced to dance with a woman (my ex's brother's wife) twice my age in front of their family and friends (including her husband). Yeah that was so ridiculously awkward it amazes me I didn't just break free and drive home.

I won't be going to any parties, any time soon.

The few parties that I went to were really tame, even if everyone was drunk. The stupid drunken behavior only comes from a few bad apples.

Amen!! :D Glad SOMEBODY in the world recognizes the effects of alcohol!! I've never understood why people enjoy that, or cigarettes, or marijuana - all three of them stink to the point of which I'd rather smell...things in the bathroom!! (and I don't mean shampoo... :P ) On top of that, why in the name of all humanity would someone WANT to poison themselves?!? Do they just think life is a big fat waste of time?!? Sometimes it can seem that way, but that's when I try to make things BETTER for myself, not WORSE!!

Exactly. The only reason cigarettes and alcohol are even legal is because the government makes so much money from taxing them over the normal rate.

May I suggest to people who drink and smoke, just save time and money by jumping of a bridge? It has the same damn effect. Or isn't that "fun" enough?

Weed can be very bad to thou. I known women who did stuff with guys while stoned & didn't remember. It's NOT good for kids to be smoking it. I knew someone who smoked it a lot sense she was like 11 & she had minor issues with tremors & had major ADHD issues. She had problems even when she wasn't on anything. I think she had been doing it for so long that it caused long-term things. I never done any illegal drugs but I was on prescription meds for a like 5 years & they caused some long-term(possibly permanent) side effects for me. I'm straight edge & I will avoid substances like the black plague. I can not afford to lose any more of my brain-cells.

Like nick said, it's a competition thing...you don't want to be a lightweight. It lowers inhibitions, so you might end up doing stuff you wouldn't normally do. IMO, dancing on a table or babbling to my crush doesn't really sound too fun (in reference to lowering inhibitions), but a lot of people want to. By lowering inhibitions it keeps your anxiety down a bit I guess.

Most people like to be around other people, and it's just something to do with each other (especially if there's a ton of people). Imagine what a 100 self conscious NTs would do sitting around with one-another (without alcohol)
 Personally I haven't found it a ton of fun, but lots of people enjoy it.

+1

i don't like the taste much, but it can lead to some pretty fun times & honest/interesting conversational topics

Yea maybe it's a "competition" among people who are like 21 or younger, or who have no intellect whatsoever. Drinking is fun for a lot of people, and the reasons are not to be pigeonholed. I love the social aspect of drinking. I also love the taste of beers across the board and a few liquors as well. I also like getting f**ked up in general. Like sean said, it does lead to some wild conversations and good times, and if you know how to conduct yourself (which not everybody does), nothing much worse than that aside from a hangover.

If I were that night manager, that boy getting the cops on him would be the least of his worries, because I would be the one dealing with him...
Let's just say he would have been run out of town or his testicles cut off. And that would be the best I could do to him.

No inhibition like people are saying. It's nice living without social anxiety for once.

I never drank much but when I did; the buzz made my anxiety worse. It did relive Essential Tremors but 1ce the buzz wore off; they rebound. Alcohol also made me feel lonely & slightly depressed. The most I drank at a time was a couple beers. My dad's side of the family likes to drink & there's usually alcohol when his family gets together but then again I live in Louisiana so lots of people here have major alcohol issues. We have a whole holiday devoted to getting drunk & throwing stuff; MaridiGras

It affects some people negatively in the short term, I guess.
If it makes you depressed, never smoke pot, you'll jump of a bridge. :P

Yeah, I'm going to a party this weekend where alcohol will be present. I trust my friends so I'm not worried about them getting plastered. I've had sips of wine but I don't like it. When I turn 21, my friends are going to want me to start drinking with them once I'm back at college. It doesn't seem like a good idea though with my medication. If I don't take my meds on the day that I go out, I should be okay right? >.>

It's because alcohol relaxes everybody, and the more relaxed that people are, the more likely they are, to want to get it on.
