It was an awful thing to say, to the point that I cannot repeat it here. And the person I said it to was a parent. Mostly I'm reminded of God's law to respect one's parents.

After a lot of emotional processing over the last few days, it boiled down to two feelings: anger at them and guilt in myself.

Feelings are not wrong...
The bible also says "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord."

Simply put... If your beliefs are right, you were designed by a supreme being that is considered infallible. Therefore, when pushed too far, you did what he designed you to do. I cannot see a being of infinite love and compassion damning someone for being as they were designed...

That being said... if you stopped at words, and this is not a pattern of behavior... then you are not violating any rules

An old acquaintance of mine wrote to me today. He was holding up all this anger towards my ways and so let me have it, double barrel, right between the eyes. I apologized and told him I'm an aspie, I have serious social/behavioural issues and that's part of the condition. I don't know if he believes that or not. Anyway, I'll probably be friendless forever so it really doesn't matter.
